4. Use/Operators
4.1 Proper use
The lifting column RKPowerlift Memory/Memory Synchro is intended exclusively for height adju-
stment of connecting constructions (e.g. table frames) and other similar adjustment tasks in clo-
sed rooms.
In addition, the lifting column is used to adjust and position machine elements in accordance with
the technical data on the type plate.
Catalogue information, the contents of these assembly instructions and conditions laid down in
the order are to be taken into account.
The intended use also implies observance of all the instructions contained in this manual.
4.2 Reasonably predictable improper use
Any other application or use going beyond the intended use is considered to be an improper use.

Overloading the appliance by exceeding the weight or duty cycle

Use outdoors
•
Use in an environment with high relative humidity > dewpoint

Use in rooms with a potentially explosive atmosphere as defined in the ATEX directive

Use when the lifting column is not sufficiently fixed

Use on an insufficiently firm base
•
Use in areas outside the specified IP protection class

Opening up the appliance
•
Running up against the stop
•
Use with damaged feed lines or housing
•
Use in a contaminated environment
•
Use in dusty atmospheres
•
Design measures must be taken to prevent a potential failure of the limit switch
•
Lateral forces must not result in tipping
•
No risks may arise when the mains plug is removed
4.3 Who can use, install and operate this lifting column
Individuals who have read and understood the installation instructions completely can use, install
and operate this lifting column. Responsibilities for handling this lifting column must be clearly
laid down and obeyed.
