UV Diffusers Installation and Operation Manual
Maintenance
WARNING : always turn off the power or unplug UV diffusers from the power source prior to doing any maintenance.
Change filter or carbon filter when it is dirty or obstructed. Filter change frequency may vary depending on the air
quality coming from the ventilation system. It is recommended to change the filter at least once every 4 months. Only
use EffectiV HVAC's replacement filters made for UV Diffusers and only purchase the filters from trusted suppliers.
Change the lamp every 2 years to ensure full efficiency. It is important to replace with the same lamps: model # UVLEV1,
by EffectiV HVAC Inc. Only purchase the lamp from trusted suppliers to avoid counterfeits which might provide lesser
performance or durability.

Changing Filter and UV Lamp(s)
WARNING :
UVFILTER-C-M7. Using filters from other manufacturers might affect filtration and
UV sterilization performance and could result in faster deterioration of the filter.
1. Make sure the power is off, then open the diffuser's face by pressing up gently to unlock the magnetic latches. It
is recommended to remove the face completely to facilitate the filter replacement.
2. To remove the filter, release the filter by pressing the 3 filter clips.
3. EVERY 2 YEARS – Replace the UV lamps with new lamps. Only replace with the same lamps: model # UVLEV1, by
EffectiV HVAC Inc.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT touch bulb with bare hands. The oils in your skin will damage the lamp. Fingerprints will
result in reduced performance and significantly reduce the lifespan of the lamp unless they are removed with
alcohol. Do not clean the bulb with chemicals.
a. Remove the four screws holding the UVC Barrier, then pull down the UVC Barrier (Figure 6).
b. Before you handle the light bulb, make sure it is cold.
c. Open the clamp and remove the lamp.
d. Gently disconnect the lamp from the cable.
e. Dispose of the old lamp as you would with regular light bulbs.
Important: wear cotton gloves for the next steps

Take the new lamp out of its packaging, keep the packaging in case you need to return the lamp for
warranty purposes.
g. Slowly insert the lamp connector over the pins.
h. Open the clamp and slide in the lamp porcelain end cap.

Close the clamp.
