Run-out compensation/calibration
!
Keep to the following sequence when performing
run-out compensation/calibration with the holder:
1. Disengage the securing cable at the rim.
2. Perform run-out compensation/calibration.
3. Engage the securing cable at the rim.
!
Make sure that use is made of 4 identical clamps to
ensure correct measurement (measurement error).
!
Secure the front, rear and side of the vehicle to stop
it rolling off the platform or pit.
!
Drive onto the measurement bay before fitting the
holders.
!
The locking pins must be in position when driving onto
and off the turntables and sliding bases.
i
The vehicle must be moved on the same level.
In other words, the roll-off track must be flat.
i
Run-out compensation/calibration can only be
performed by pushing the vehicle.
i
Do not step between the cameras and measurement
boards during measurement.
!
The measurement boards must be levelled prior to
run-out compensation/calibration (spirit levels alig-
ned). The measurement boards are then no longer
to be levelled by turning in the holders.
i
After run-out compensation/calibration, fit the brake
clamp for further measurements.
4.14.1
Determination of rolling distance
i
Ensure an adequate flat rolling track in front of/be-
hind the center of the turntable.
i
The rolling distance for all standard wheel and tire
sizes is max. 30° forwards/backwards. This corre-
ponds to a max. rolling distance of 250 mm for-
wards/backwards.

Run-out compensation/calibration procedure
!
The FAS-measurement-boards must be covered.
1. Press <F3> to continue with the program.
The lighting is adjusted.
The following prompt appears:
"Push vehicle backwards".
2. Push the vehicle back by an approx. 30° wheel
rotation (in direction opposite to travel).
The following message appears:
"Rolling distance OK".
3. Stop the vehicle. The following prompt appears:
"Push vehicle forwards".
4. Push the vehicle forwards evenly and steadily by an
approx. 60° wheel rotation (in direction of travel).
The following message appears:
"Rolling distance OK".
5. Stop the vehicle.
The following prompt appears:
"Push vehicle back to starting position".
6. Push the vehicle back by approx. 30° until the mea-

is standing centrally on the turntables in the starting
position.
The following prompt appears:
"Fit brake depressor", "remove locking pins and
fillers".
7. Fit the brake depressor (refer to 4.15), remove the
turntable locking pins and fillers.
8. Press <F3> to continue with the program.
"
Run-out compensation/calibration successfully
performed.
!
If the fault message "Not all marks detected on cer-
tain measurement boards." appears on pushing the
vehicle backwards, push it slowly forwards until the
message "Rolling distance OK" is displayed.
If the warning message "No indication
at end of rolling distance" appears on
pushing the vehicle forwards, continue
moving the vehicle forwards until a rolling
distance of 60° is attained. Independently
check that the rolling distance is not ex-
ceeded, as the message "Rolling distance
OK" is not displayed. The prompt "Push
vehicle back to starting position" then
appears.
i
If the vehicle has been pushed back too slowly, the
starting screen for the operation appears and the
user is requested to repeat run-out compensation/
calibration from the starting position.
