Magnetic fastener
Danger - powerful magnets!
The powerful magnets of the magnetic faste-
ner are a potential risk for wearers of pacema-
kers.
Keep the magnets of the magnetic fastener
well away from pacemakers.
!
Do not set down magnetic data carriers
(e.g. CD/DVD/floppy disk) in the vicinity of
the magnetic fastener, as these could be
rendered unusable by the powerful mag-
nets of the magnetic fastener.
Attachment
i
If applicable, remove wheel caps and protective
caps for bolts.
i
Only use the magnetic fastener for cars with a
wheelbase of up to max. 3400 mm.
i
Different holders are required for wheelbases in ex-
cess of 3400 mm (for example Universal quick-action
clamp).
!
If other holders are used, take care to avoid rolling
over clamping arms (destruction of tyre).
i
Boards for long wheelbases must be used for wheel-
bases in excess of 3400 mm (1 690 701 012).
i
Make sure the magnets are clean prior to attach-
ment. If fitted, detach the rubber protective caps for
cleaning.
!
Drive onto the platform or over the pit before atta-
ching the magnetic fastener to the wheel.
i
The magnetic fastener is only to be used:
1. For steel and aluminium rims,
2. with the specified dimensions (refer to table),
3. in conjunction with the plate 1 690 401 006 (Fig. 6
left),
4. and on bolts with a flat head.
i
Never place the magnets on rim locks.
i
On attachment make sure all the wheel bolts are the
same.
