HOW TO USE
Bike Station Shock Absorbers
for Classic Springer Forks
Item‑№
16‑613, 16‑614

Preparation

While working on the bike, place it on a lift and se‑
cure it by straps.
It is easiest to install the shock absorber kit if the
fork is on a workbench. If you do not want to take
off the handlebar, cables and wiring harness, at
least take out the front wheel and fender and re‑
move the headlight.
Remove the single shock absorber (if your bike is
equipped with one), springs, bushings and spring
rods completely. If in doubt, refer to the service
manual. The spring rods may be seated quite firm‑
ly in their places. If needed make yourself a puller
from a piece of tubing and a 1/2"‑20 nut.
Installation
Place the rebound (top) spring on the new shock
aborbers. Secure spring in place with preload nuts.
Counter with top nut.
Place one O‑ring on each shock absorber and in‑
sert them in the spring support on the rigid fork.

Push on the second O‑ring and the cup washer
from the underside and screw on the 3/4"‑16 nut.
The nut should go just all the way on the thread,
but do not tighten further.

NEEDED
Screw on one 7/16"‑20 nut on each shock absor‑
ber rod, push on the lower spring and insert each
shock absorber rod in its respective hole on the
spring fork. The shock absorber rods must protru‑
de from the fork by equal lengths.
Screw and tighten the lock washer and remaining
7/16" nuts onto the protruding threads of the shock
absorber rods. Counter the upper 7/16"‑20 nuts by
an open wrench you stick through the spring coils.
Final works
Now that you're done for the shock absorber in‑
stallation, install all the other parts you've taken
off, check your front brake and go for a test ride.
