Notes:
• Check the cable entry clamping area against the diameter of the cable to
be brought in.
• Firmly tighten the cable entry itself and the cable entry pressure screw for
sealing.
• The unused opening must be closed with certified plugs.
• Test the components and cable entry for ingress protection after installa-
tion (IP 66).

Observe mounting and safety instructions:
• Operating temperature
• Possible for zones 1 and 2 as well as zones 21 and 22
• Match cable diameter for clamping strength of screwed cable gland
(protection by enclosures IP 66)
• Damage to the signal beacon endangers the explosion protection!

Commissioning

Before commissioning make sure that:
• the appliance has been mounted according to instructions,
• the electrical connections have been carried out correctly,
• the appliance is not damaged in any way.

Cleaning

Clean only with a damp cloth using water or mild non-chafing, non-scrat-
ching cleaning fluid. Never use aggressive substances or solvents when clea-
ning.

Maintenance and servicing

The devices 738 / 782 are maintenance-free.
The bulb change of the devices 783 / 784 is decribed on page 20.
When carrying out maintenance work, the following points must be checked.
• Cracks or damage to the glass dome or the light fitting housing
• Connecting lead in a perfect condition?
• Are the cable inlet itself and the seal inside the cable inlet in a proper work-
ing order?
• Are the cable inlet and the plug tightly fitted?
• Is the electrical connection in a perfect condition? Are the PE conductor
and the equipotential bonding conductor connected?
• Are the interiors (Ex d and Ex e housings) clean and in a perfect condition?
• Retighten signal lamp fastening screws! Check for signs of corrosion.
10.1 Opening and closing of the Ex d housing
Caution:
• Do not open the light fitting under a live voltage!
• After disconnecting the lamp, observe the prescribed waiting time before
opening it.
To open the pressure-proof enclosed signal lamp, unscrew the glass hood
embedded in the housing by turning it to the left (about seven thread turns).
