2 – CHARACTERISTICS
These Handles are designed to fit horizontal sliding doors with specific characteristics (isothermal, acoustical, clean-
rooms, dust-tight).
When the door is closed, manual system pushes the leaf to the frame and down to the floor.
The customer uses the handle to open the door and follows the door until opening required.
The upper part of the lifting arm, pushes on the butt so the door moves away from the floor and the frame
These handles are suitable to doors of dimensions and weights as per informations here-below, whatever door or
frame materials :
Maxi door weights correspond to the manual system weight.
An industrial or commercial door designed to be operated manually must be opened or closed with an effort below
260 N. This value excludes the influence of wind or other environmental factors that are not to be taken into
consideration. Higher values can be allowed at the beginning of the opening or at the closing time. EN 12604:2000
-4.4.1.
In case of motor failure, the door must be opened manually. The required physical effort to open the door may not
exceed by more than 50% the values indicated in the EN 12604 standard. EN 12453:2000 -5.3.5.
This product is in accordance with the above mentionned standards. The maximum effort for the internal handle is
390 Nm.
The operating temperature is between -30°C and + 55°C.
3 - TRANSPORT
The handle is packed :
- either within the manual system packing
- or with other compents in a box.
The original packing is designed for all types of transportation means. This equipment must be protected from bad
weather during transport.
The liability of FERMOD ceases :
- as soon as the customer of intaller opens the package or part of it,
- as soon as the package has suffered a considerable impact in such a way that it's damaged.
4 - STORAGE
This equipment must be protected from the bad weather during storage.
5 - MOUNTING
Please respect the regulations in force in the country of installation and the present mounting instructions.
The fixation of the internal plate on the door must be well made, made of a suitable material, have an appropriate
resistance and be exempt from any obvious fault for their intended working life (in conformity with EN 13604:2000,4-
2-1).
The installer also has to verify the nature of the door leaf material as well as the existence of a reinforced insert
adapted to the efforts described in §2 Characteristics of the Product.
