NOTES ON HOW TO CALIBRATE
AND SERVICE THE "VARIOTOP"
Weights
To obtain utmost performance from Variotop, it is fundamental that shift
point is close to top speed. To decrease engine rpm at shift point, you just
need to change the centrifugal weights with heavier ones. While if you
fi t lighter centrifugal weights, you obtain an increase in shift point rpm.
It is recommended to check weights for wear every 5000 km; weights
should be changed when their diameter reaches the value indicated
in the table.
Bushing
Every 15000 km check bushing for wear, if worn or damaged change
it with a Top Performances one.
IMPORTANT: this converter is designed to operate with no lubricant.
