Headstock Spindle Lock; Headstock Rotation - Jet JWL-1840EVS Mode D'emploi

Note:
The "High" speed range (100-3200) provides maximum
speed, where as the "Low" speed range (40-1200) will
provide maximum torque.
Lower the tensioning handle so that the weight of the motor
provides the needed belt tension and tighten the locking
handle.
Do not over-tension belt, a light pressure is adequate to
prevent belt slippage.
Close and lock the belt cover.
ON/ OFF switch :
You can start the machine with the green ON-button (A, Fig
32).
The lathe will begin turning and driving the headstock
spindle.
The lathe will reach full speed in about 5 seconds.
The machine will stop when you push the red OFF-button
(B) or the remote OFF-switch (Fig 33).
Remote OFF-switch :
The remote OFF-switch (Fig 33) stops the machine.

When the remote OFF-switch is pushed, cycle the green
ON-button (A, Fig 32) on headstock to restart lathe.
Speed control knob :
Rotate speed control knob (D) clockwise to increase,
counter clockwise to decrease.
Speed is displayed as RPM (revolutions per minute) on
digital readout (E).
Forward/Reverse :
Use the switch (C) to reverse the spindle direction.
Caution :
For reversing spindle rotation, always make sure face plate,
chuck or other is secured with the set screws. To avoid
threading loose.
Always set the speed control knob to its lowest setting
before starting lathe. Never start a workpiece at maximum
speed.
The AC Inverter does not require any programming. It is
pre-programmed from the factory. Do not attempt any
changes.

7.2 Headstock spindle lock

Push spindle lock pin (P, Figure 34) and rotate spindle
slightly until pin engages. Slide plate downward to hold pin
in locking position.
Release spindle lock by pushing plate upward.
Caution :
Never press the spindle lock while the spindle is turning!

7.3 Headstock Rotation

IMPORTANT: Remove anti-rotation block (Fig 35) with 4mm
hex key before attempting to rotate headstock.
