manual for future reference. Consult the online programming guide on www.niko.eu for detailed settings.
1. DESCRIPTION
The 360° KNX presence detector is ideal for flush-mounted installation in the ceiling and use in integrated
solutions with other KNX system components. The device detects movement and the presence of persons with
the aid of Passive InfraRed technology (PIR). The detector is most sensitive to movements passing through
the detection area (see fig. 1). The sensitivity to movements directly towards the sensor is about 50% less.
The detector can also be used for the control of sun blinds, HVAC and alarm systems, creation of lighting
scenarios, etc. The detector is designed for indoor applications and has an integrated light sensor. It is suitable
for use in offices, production premises, schools, hospitals and public buildings and can be used in both large
and small rooms. The detector is supplied with power by the KNX bus. Communication on the KNX bus follows
the KNX principle. The detector can be configured with the ETS software.
This detector comes in the following two versions:
with continuous light control
without continuous light control
The presence detector is provided with a (1-channel) continuous daylight control function, which adjusts the
light intensity based on the incoming daylight.
2. USE
The presence detector responds to the heat of moving bodies. As soon as someone approaches the detection
range, the programmed action will be executed. When this same person leaves the detection range, the action
will be stopped after a adjustable switch-off delay. If the standby light is activated, the lamp will stay on at a
lower intensity for an adjustable period of time.
The detector is suitable for use in integrated solutions with other KNX system components.
Be aware of the following during installation:
• Only mount the detector indoors and on stable ceilings.
• Hide any moving objects in the detection area by shielding the lens.
• Do not place any lighting closer than 1 m from the sensor (see Fig 2).
• Do not mount the detector in the direct path of a cold or hot air flow (see Fig. 2).
• This product needs to be installed in a flush-mounting box with dimensions according to the CEE7 standard
sheet XIII or XV and a minimum flush mounting depth of 40 mm.
3. MOUNTING
The detector is designed for ceiling mounting. The diameter of the detection area depends on the mounting
height (see Fig. 1).
Mounting:
1. Connect the black (-) and red (+) bus terminal to the KNX bus (see Fig. 4a and 4b).
2. Secure the detector in a standard 68 mm flush-mounting box.
3. Configure the detector with the ETS software (see § 5).
Meaning LEDs:
• Red LED: glows upon pressing the programming button (see Fig. 4c)
• Green LED: flashes once with each motion detection.
4. WIRING
This detector is suitable for connection to the KNX bus and is powered by a KNX power supply.

Minus (black bus terminal)

5. CONFIGURATION
The detector is ready for use approximately 1 minute after connection to the KNX bus voltage. Press the programming
button (see Fig. 4c) to activate the detector's programming mode (red LED is burning). The settings can only be
modified while the detector is in programming mode. The detector should be configured with the ETS software.
The product details for configuration of this detector can be downloaded from our website (www.niko.eu).

Solution
• The threshold value is set too low. Increase the threshold value.
• Check the lighting and the fuse.
• Check the detection area for possible causes for this error: a draft,
animals, heating etc can all cause erroneous detections
• Check the distance to lamps (heat reflection or direct incident light).
• If necessary, shield the lens.
• The detection range is too wide. Decrease the detection range.
• The threshold value is set too high. Decrease the threshold value.

8. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Dirt affects the operation of the motion detector. The lens must always be clean. Use a damp cloth for cleaning
the lens. Use water mixed with normal cleaning agent. Avoid pressing hard on the lens. If the lens or other
components of the motion detector are defective, it/they must be replaced.
9. WARNINGS REGARDING INSTALLATION
• The installation should be carried out by a registered installer and in compliance with the statutory regulations.
• This user manual should be presented to the user. It should be included in the electrical installation file,
and it should be passed on to any new owners. Additional copies are available on the Niko website or via
the Niko support service.
• During installation, the following should be taken into account (non-exhaustive list):
- the statutory laws, standards and regulations.
- the technology currently available at the time of installation.
- this user manual, which only states general regulations and should therefore be read within the scope
of each specific installation.
- the rules of proper workmanship.
