• Only use bars and chains recommended by the
manufacturer. The use of other bars and/or chains
can cause the chain to break and/or back kicks.
• Follow the manufacturers instructions about
sharpening of the chain and general maintenance
of the chain. If the minimun level in the chain
calibre is surpassed it will cause an increase in
back kicks and back pulls.
• Always control where the tip of the bar is when
working.
• Ensure the tip of the bar does not touch any object.
• Do not cut branches with the tip of the bar.
• Make sure that there is no metal pieces of any
sort in the cutting area and pay special attention to
metal parts near or close to the working and
cutting area. Also, be careful when cutting hard
woods as the chain could get caught and come
to a standstill thus increasing the risk of the above
mentioned unpredictable forces.
• Start cutting with the machine at full throttle and
maintain this full throttle during the duration of the
cutting work.
• Only cut one branch or piece of wood at a time.
• Be extremely careful when introducing the chain
into a cut that has already been started.
• Do not start cutting until familiarised with basic
cutting techniques.
• Do not cut branches or pieces of wood that could
change position during the duration of the cut.
• Maintain the chain in a good state.
• Only work if the chain is sharp and properly tensed.
• Never position yourself in the cutting area of the chain.
