Remove Taillights – Open liftgate, remove the taillight cover trim. Using pry tool pry inward on the cover remove. Using T25 Torx remove (2) screws securing the taillight to the vehicle. Slide the taillight
toward the rear of the vehicle to remove. Disconnect electrical connector and set taillight aside. Repeat for other side.
2.
Remove cargo area floor panel – lift and remove floor panel.
3.
Remove threshold – Lift threshold straight up to remove. Using a prytool at the side of the threshold lift up and remove.
4.
Remove fascia fasteners – Locate and remove rubber grommets in the rear of the cargo area. Using a 10mm deep well socket remove the nuts that were concealed by the grommets.
5.
Remove wheel well fasteners - Inside the rear wheel well, behind the tire, locate the screws which are holding the bottom corner of the wheel well liner. U sing a T25 torx remove these screws and fold
the flexible liner back toward the tire. Behind the liner locate an additional screw and remove it. Repeat for other side.
6.
Remove fastener behind wheel well trim - Use outward pressure and find the end of the clips inside the wheel well. Press down on the clips with a pry tool to release them. Using a T25 Torx remove the
screw behind the wheel well trim. Repeat for other side. NOTE: To protect the trim from being scratched during the removal or replacement, cover it with painter's tape or something similar.
7.
Remove lower fascia screws – Using a T25 Torx , under the rear of the vehicle, remove screws from the bottom of the fascia.

Remove impact beam – Using a 13mm socket, remove bolts holding impact beam to end panel. Return bolts and impact beam to vehicle owner. NOTE: Some models have a cellular antenna attached to
the factory reinforcement beam. If present, using a 10mm socket remove from the factory reinforcement beam. The antenna will be reattached to stud used for another sensor on the end panel.
10. Install hitch – Insert hitch side brackets into the frame rails as shown in Fig. 1, align slots in hitch brackets with the holes in the frame rails (the holes may be covered with undercoating on the exterior of
the frame, remove to install fasteners). Use supplied pullwires to install bolts and spacers through the hitch and vehicle frame (see Fig. 2). Install conical washers (teeth side toward vehicle frame) onto
the bolts.
11. Tighten all hitch fasteners with torque wrench to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M)
12. Relocate Cellular Antenna – Using a 10mm socket, remove the nuts holding the sensor to the end panel on the passenger side near the frame rail opening, p ull sensor off of studs. Install the cellular
antenna bracket onto the left stud and reinstall the sensor onto the studs and tighten nuts.
