REmovIng ChImE CovER
The cover rotates on and off the base very much like a door swings
on its hinges. Follow the steps below to remove cover from base.
1. With back of chime facing up, hold chime cover on the same
side of chime as the cardboard tab.
2. With other hand, slowly pull the cardboard tab to remove base
from cover (see Figure 1). Note: Notice the hinged action of the
base as it is removed from the cover. This same hinged action
will take place when the cover is installed on the base after the
base is installed on the wall.
3. Dispose of the cardboard.
Before Installing the Base
Place the base and cover on a flat surface as shown in Figure 2.
Locate and understand the function of the different parts that are
called out in Figure 2. Note: Do not install the cover on the base
until base is mounted on the wall.
• The wide tab on the cover will install into the wide slot in the
base.
• The narrow tab on the cover will install into the narrow slot in
the base.
• The cover will then rotate onto the base similar to the way a door
swings closed on its hinges.
