5 Operation

5.1 Adjusting the input level on the transmitter

Switch on the transmitter with the button POWER (1).
Feed an input signal to the transmitter and adjust it
with the input control VOLUME (6) in such a way that
the transmitter is controlled to an optimum level. Via
the bar graph (n), the input level is indicated sepa -
rately for the left "L" channel and the right "R" channel.
When "PEAK" is indicated on the right of the bar
graph, the corresponding input channel is overloaded.
In this case, turn back the control VOLUME or reduce
the level of the signal source. In addition, it is possible
to attenuate the input signal by 10 dB. For this pur-
pose, proceed as follows:
1) Keep the button SET (4) pressed for more than
approx. 3 s. In the upper line (k) of the display,
"FREQ." will flash.
2) Press the button SET so many times until "ATT." in
the upper line starts flashing.
3) With the button - (5), the attenuation can be
switched on (
the button + (3).
4) Confirm the selection with the button SET.
In case of active input attenuation, "ATT - 10 dB" (m)
will be indicated on the display.

5.2 Monitoring the transmitter via headphones

The signal of the transmitter can be monitored via
headphones connected to the jack (8) or (9). Adjust
the volume for the headphones with the control MONI-
TOR (7).
CAUTION
Never adjust a very high volume. Per-
manent high volumes may damage
your hearing! The ear will get accus-
tomed to high volumes which do not
seem to be that high after some time.
Therefore, do not further increase a
high volume after getting used to it.

5.3 Inserting the earphones

For an optimum fit in different ears, the earphones are
supplied with three pairs of silicone sleeves of different
sizes. Select the size best suited for your own ears
and place the sleeves on the earphones. Alternatively,
individually adapted sleeves (otoplastics) from a hear -
ing aid acoustician may be used.
Insert the earphones for the left ear marked "L" (28)
and for the right ear marked "R" (29) into your ears and
lead the cable over your outer ear to the back of your
head. This will ensure a tighter fit than leading the
cable directly downwards.
