3 .2 FILL IN HYDRAULIC OIL

Not every machine is delivered with
an empty hydraulic oil container. If
the fill level indicator shows a full
tank on delivery, this step is not
necessary.
Precondition:
• The machine is ready for operation.
• The machine is switched off.
• The media supply is connected.
• The hydraulic oil tank is not filled according to
the fill level indicator, see chapter 2.4.4.
1. Loosen the screws on the right engine cover.
2. Remove right engine cover.
3. Unscrew the lid of the hydraulic oil filler pipe.
4. Fill in hydraulic oil until the fill level indicator is
up.
5. Screw on the lid of the hydraulic oil filler pipe.
6. Screw tight the right engine cover.

3 .3 TEST OF SAFETY SYSTEM

3 .3 .1 Test basic function of safety system

If the ambient temperature is
below 15 °C, the machine must be
switched on to preheat at least 10
minutes before starting work.
Precondition:
• The power plug is connected.
• The Switch Emergency Stop is deactivated.
1. Set Main Switch to ON.
2. Press Switch On.
The lamp behind the Switch On is green.

The machine is ready for operation.

3. Set the Selection Switch Operation/Setup to
Operation.
4. Insert the associated key into the Key Switch
Operating Mode.
5. Turn the Key Switch Operating Mode with the
key to Conductive Materials.
6. Turn Rotary Knob Starting Position
counterclockwise until it stops.
7. Turn Rotary Knob Starting Position clockwise
until the white marking on the rotary knob is at
the 10 o'clock position.
8. Keep hands away from both tool holders.
9. Press the Down Footswitch until the distance
between the upper and lower tool holders is
approximately 10 cm (4 in).

10. Grab the upper tool holder with both hands on
the sides and push it upwards.
The safety system is activated and the

upper tool holder returns to its starting
position.
If the upper tool holder does not
return to its starting position at the
end of this step, the safety system
is defective.
WARNING
Defective safety system
Death, serious injury or material
damage
• If the safety system is defective,
block the machine immediately
and secure it against use.
3 .3 .2 Test safety system for conductive
materials
If the ambient temperature is
below 15 °C, the machine must be
switched on to preheat at least 10
minutes before starting work.
Precondition:
• The power plug is connected.
• The Switch Emergency Stop is deactivated.
• The basic function of safety system was tested
successfully, see chapter 3.3.1.
1. Insert a 25 mm (1 in) flat anvil into both tool
holders.
2. Set the Selection Switch Operation/Setup to
Setup.
3. Insert the associated key into the Key Switch
Operating Mode.
4. Turn the Key Switch Operating Mode with the
key to Conductive Materials.
5. Keep hands away from both tool holders.
6. Press the Down Footswitch until the upper flat
anvil touches the lower flat anvil.
7. Press and hold the Down Footswitch while
turning the Rotary Knob Press-In Force until
the Indicator Pressure and Force shows
approximately 3000 lb (13 kN).
8. Release the Down Footswitch.
9. Press the Up Footswitch until the distance
between both flat anvils is approximately 10 cm
(4 in).
10. Set the Selection Switch Operation/Setup to
Operation.
11. Keep hands away from both tool holders.
12. Press the Down Footswitch.
The force is applied.
