ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

CONNECTING THE TOOL TO THE POWER SOURCE OUTLET
n This tile saw must be connected to a grounded power source while in use to
protect the user from electrical shock.
n In case of a malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least
resistance for electrical current to reduce the risk of electrical shock. The tile
saw is equipped with an electrical cord with a grounding conductor and a
grounding plug.
n Insert the 3-prong electrical plug into a 3-pole receptacle that is properly
installed and grounded in accordance with local codes and ordinances.
n Do not modify the plug provided if it will not fit into the outlet. Have the proper
outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
n Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in
a risk of electric shock. The conductor with green insulation on the outside
(With or without yellow stripes) is the equipment-grounding conductor. If
repair or replacement of the electrical cord or plug is necessary, do not
connect the equipment-grounding conductor to a live terminal.
n Check with a qualified electrician or service technician if the grounding
instructions are not completely understood, or if there is any doubt as to
whether the tool is properly grounded.
n Use only 3-wire extension cords that have 3-prong grounding plugs and
3-pole receptacles that accept the tile saw's plug.
n Damaged or worn cords are to be repaired or replaced immediately.
n Improper use of extension cords my cause inefficient operation of your tool,
which can result in overheating. Be sure your extension cord is rated to allow
sufficient current flow to the motor.
WARNING:
n Before using this tool, make sure that the power cord will be plugged into an
110-120V outlet which has a three-prong ground, is 15 Amp time-delay fuse
or circuit breaker and has a Ground Fault Interrupter.
n NEVER try to plug a 110-120V tool into a 220-240V circuit, or serious
complications and possible injury to the operator may occur. The plugs have
different shapes to prevent this.
n This tool has a three-prong plug. The third round prong is the ground. Cutting
off the ground will result in a safety hazard and void warranty.
NOTE: Performance of this tool may vary depending on variations in local line
voltage. Extension cord usage may also affect tool performance.
WARNING: The warnings, cautions and instructions discussed in this instruction
manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur.
It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are
factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the
operator.
