Introduction
This smoke alarm (referred to below as smoke detector)
is designed to warn residents as early as possible in
the event of a fi re. The warning (alarm) is triggered
by the smoke detector as soon as smoke enters the
measuring chamber.
The product features a lithium battery with a run time of
approx. 10 years depending on the surrounding area.
The FMR 3569 product features a lithium battery with
a service life of approximately 10 years, depending on
the surrounding area. The FMR 3033 and FMR 3392
products off er a battery life of approximately 3 years.
Intended use
• The smoke detector FMR 3569 is designed for
domestic use. The smoke detector's warning feature
alerts residents in the property to fi re, enabling them
to react appropriately.
• In the event of a fi re, they can alert the fi re service
or emergency services and evacuate the danger
zone. Keep doors and windows closed.
• If possible, warn other residents in the building.
• This is particularly important for the elderly or people
with restricted mobility.
• Note: people sleeping soundly or under the infl uence
of alcohol, drugs or medication are unlikely to hear
the audible signal.
• Please note that the human sense of smell is inactive
during sleep.
Safety instructions
• Only use the recommended battery in the
device and ensure that it is correctly inserted
according to Fig. 2.
• The mounting lock prevents installation
of the smoke detector if the battery is not inserted
correctly (Fig. 2A).
• Do not paint over smoke detectors. Protect the
device, especially during renovation work.
• Altering the product or operating the device beyond
the technical specifi cations will render the guarantee
void and can reduce the device's operation or even
render it inoperative.
• Do not cover the smoke detector with tape.
• Note: smoke detectors cannot put out fi res or prevent
fi res from starting or spreading.
• Note: risk of explosion in the event of improper
battery use.
• In certain countries there are legal requirements
regarding the use and operation of smoke alarms.
The standard DIN 14676 contains further information
for Germany.
Display and operating elements
• The product features a test key Fig. 3C with an
inbuilt optical display (LED). Press and hold the test
key for approx. 20 seconds to test the smoke
detector's operation and battery. The subsequent
alarm signal will switch off automatically after approx.
20 to 30 seconds. The smoke detector is then ready
for use.
Project planning
Ensure basic protection by installing smoke detectors
in all bedrooms, playrooms and corridors according to
Fig. 5. We recommend that you install smoke detectors
in all rooms so that you can be given the earliest possible
warning throughout your home in the event of a fi re. In
rooms which have a surface area of over 60 sqm. and
in corridors longer than 10 m, we recommend the use
of several smoke detectors to ensure optimum smoke
detection. Installation examples: Fig. 5 and Fig. 6.
