NOTE!
The temperature in the freezer will depend
upon the temperature in the room in which
it is placed, how often and how long the lid
is opened, the location of the freezer, etc.
These factors should be taken into account
when setting the thermostat; sometimes
they make it necessary to change the set-
ting.
With the thermostat set on "1" only the
compressor is switched off. If the power is
to be switched off completely, unplug the
freezer from the wall socket.
Freezing
Items for freezing should be packed in air
and waterproof material to avoid drying out.
Portions should be as flat as possible to
ensure fast freezing.
About 24 hours before beginning to freeze
items, depress the quick-freeze switch
to ensure the maximum freezing effect. In
the case of small portions, this period can
be shortened. If only single packs are to be
frozen, the period can be omitted entirely.
Already frozen items should be placed in
the wire baskets or be stacked in the mid-
dle of the freezer.
When the 24 hours have elapsed, new
items for freezing can be placed evenly
along and in good contact with the inner
walls. Try to avoid new items coming into
contact with items already frozen. When
the above procedure is followed, items can
be assumed to be frozen about 24 hours
after being placed in the freezer. This peri-
od can be shorter or longer, depending on
the number of packs, and on their shape
and size.
The quick-freeze switch
ned off. The compressor and freezer regu-
lation will then again be controlled by the
thermostat setting.

perature warning (red lamp). This is quite
normal and no action is necessary.
Defrosting and
cleaning
Frost forms mainly at the top of the freezer
and should be removed when it becomes
about 1/2 cm (0.20 inches) thick. Never
use a sharp or pointed object, it can dama-
ge the freezer. The freezer should be total-
ly defrosted about twice each year.
