A special advantage of the wall chaser is the infinitely variable adjust-
ment of cutting depth (G) by means of a rotating driving block. Due to
the above mentioned, irrespective of the cutting depth, an optimized
dust-sealing is guaranteed.
In order to modify the cutting depth, it is advisable to set the tool
straight up onto the suction socket and the motor cover. By means of
the hexagonal pivot, which projects from the locking bar, the 3 hex.
screws, which are at the exhaust air side of the motor, can be loos-
ened by approximately one turn.
Now the driving block is rotated in the required depth position and
the three hex. screws are retightened.
For guidance of the cutting depth adjustment in steps of 5 mm,
there is a scale from 1 to 4 on the name plate. Position 4 stands for
the maximum cutting depth of the inserted cutter.
At the acme thread of the spindle, a captive hard-brass washer is
attached, which facilitates the loosening of the tools and prevents
jamming by corrosion. When damaged, the washer must be
replaced in due course.
The cutting tool turns against the feed direction (cutting in opposite
direction). The cutter has to be screwed onto the spindle in such a
way, that the description on the cutter is visible on the user's side.
Loose cutters will occur the risk of injury!
To loosen the cutters, it is advisable to place the tool on the rubber
handles at the back. You will need the spanner SW 17 and the lock-
ing bar, which are supplied.
Put the spanner onto the spindle and turn it so that it rests against
the housing and locks itself.
Adjust the locking bar to the corresponding cutter size, by hooking
in the round dowel pin between 2 teeth of the cutter and by pushing
and attaching the clamp body on the opposite side between two
further teeth.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Always ensure that the clamp body tip has no
play between the teeth, as otherwise the carbide tips might be dam-
aged (cracks) while loosening.
This tool is solely determined for cutting slots and setting sockets in
masonry, brick, limestone and lightweight materials. Materials releas-
ing noxious dust or steam during the work may not be treated. Im-
proper use may cause injury or damage the tool.
Switch on the tool and press first the front roller (F) against the wall,
then slowly enter the cutter into the wall, until the two rollers lie
against the wall. Only then push the tool in the cutting direction. The
arrow on the tool indicates the cutting direction and is situated just
above the cutting slot.
During the operation, the tool must be held with both handles, as when
touching metal parts, radio interference suppression is not guaranteed.
