• Position the electric plate:
- on a stable, flat (because the appliance could tip over) and smooth support surface
that resists heat and is easy to clean; check for these conditions, especially if the
appliance is used on a table with settings.
- far from other sources of heat, inflammable materials (curtains, carpets, etc.),
inflammable gases or explosive materials (spray cans) and from materials that can
deform on exposure to heat.
- far from sinks or containers filled with water to avoid it getting wet or falling in.
• Make sure that the electric cord is correctly positioned, not touching hot or sharp
surfaces and not wrapped around the appliance or twisted or tangled, to avoid the
appliance falling. Make sure that it can't be tripped over, to avoid accidental falls or
injury.
• Do not hook-up the device to a heat control systems, programmer, timer or other
device that could turn the fan heater on automatically, to avoid the risk of fire.
• In the event of a breakdown or poor operation, turn the fan heater off and ask for
professionally qualified help.
OPERATION
Before the first use, clean the wok and fondue pot, cover, grill, spatula and fork with
water and a normal dish detergent, rinse and dry carefully; do not use scouring pads or
abrasive products so as not to scratch the surfaces and damage the non-stick coating.
The electric plate must not be washed or immersed in liquids: If electrical parts are
inadvertently soaked, immediately remove the plug from the socket and dry carefully:
if you are unsure, contact qualified service personnel.
Attention: During its first use, the appliance could emit smoke, but this does not mean
anything is wrong.
Check that the thermostat knob is at the lowest setting, place the wok or fondue pot
correctly on the heating plate (the bottom of the pan must be perfectly seated in the
ring on the plate) and, then, plug it in; turn the temperature knob clockwise to select
the appropriate heat (maximum for frying, steam cooking, browning, etc., and at lower
values for chocolate fondue, etc.): the luminous indicator is lit when the heating
element is on and it turns off when it has reached the temperature set.
To turn the appliance off, turn the temperature knob to the "min" position and then
unplug it.
Cooking with the wok
The wok pan is ideal for light frying, sauteing, tossed pasta, steaming and cooking
typical oriental dishes. The frying pan is accompanied with a semi-circular grill (which
hooks on the edge) for draining food, a glass cover and wood spatula. During cooking,
the center of the wok is especially hot: most foods need to be stirred frequently. Do not
use metal or sharp utensils for stirring so as not to damage the non-stick coating. If the
wok is used for frying, be careful not to use too much oil, to avoid spills; the grill is
ideal for draining fried foods as soon as they are removed from the oil. For steam
cooking, you must use the baskets and cover.
Fondue
The typical "Caquelon" fondue pot is ideal for cheese, chocolate or "Bourguignonne"
fondues. The pan is accompanied by 6 small forks and a ring for arranging them inside.
Adjust the temperature of the cooking plate for the type of fondue: max for fondues
