MAINTENANCE
•
Clean the outside of the press with a dry, clean, soft cloth.
•
Lubricate the joints and all moving parts periodically with light oil as needed.
•
When the efficiency of the press reduces, purge the hydraulic system to eliminate
any air in the system.
•
Check the hydraulic oil: remove the oil filler nut on the pump. If it is not adequate, fill
with high-quality hydraulic jack oil as necessary, then replace the oil filler nut and
purge air from the hydraulic system.
•
When the press is not in use, store in a dry location with the ram and piston in
fully-retracted position.
LUBRICATION
•
The tool should be properly lubricated to enhance function and to avoid premature
wear or damage of parts. Avoid over-lubricating the tool.
•
Only the recommended lubricants should be used to fill or lubricate the parts as
necessary. Substitutes may harm the rubber parts and other components of the tool.
•
Lubricate the tool before storing. Use an ample amount of lubricant when the tool
has to be stored for an extended period of time (overnight, weekend, etc.).
CAUTION!
The tool should be stored in a clean and dry environment.
Failure to comply will result in moderate injury or
damage to equipment.
CAUTION!
NEVER use WD-40 to clean or lubricate your tool.
WD-40 is a solvent that will break down the internal
grease and cause the tool to seize up.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The following chart lists common operating issues and solutions. Please read it carefully
and follow all instructions closely.

• Ram jammed.
• Ram binding.
DISPOSING OF THE TOOL
If the tool has damage beyond repair, do not throw it out. Bring it to the appropriate
recycling facility.
WARNING!
If any of these symptoms appear while the tool is in use,
turn it off and disconnect it from the hydraulic supply
immediately. Failure to heed this warning will result in
serious personal injury.

Action
• Check oil level. Fill as required.
• Loosen the fitting to bleed the
lines
• Check the pressure gauge and
replace if defective. Check
control valve. Clean, repair, or
replace as required. Check the
cylinder seals. If the oil
bypasses inside the cylinder,
replace the seals.
• Replace seals as required.
• If the fitting is loose, tighten the
fitting or add sealant as
required. If the fitting is
damaged or defective, replace
it.
• Check the hydraulic system.
• Check the workpiece. If the
load has exceeded the capacity
of the press, then use a larger
press.
• Check the cylinder. Remove the
defective part and repair.
• Cylinder ram is bent. Replace
the ram and seals. Take more
care when applying loads.
