5.5. installation and mounting

The nut splitter is delivered fully assembled with no pump.
Wear safety shoes around the nut splitter, including when trans-
porting it.
Wear suitable gloves to protect yourself against hand injuries.
Wear suitable protective goggles. Protective goggles will protect
your eyes against metal splinters.
Use a pump with a maximum pressure of 700 bar and a pressure
gauge for the installation of the nut splitter's hydraulic system.
Otherwise, it is mandatory to install a pressure gauge in the
system.
Caution: Avoid kinks and tight bends in the hydraulic hoses to
prevent damage. The resulting back pressure can lead to damage
inside the hose and reduces the service life of the product.
Warning: Do not place any object, in particular no heavy objects,
on top of the hydraulic hoses. Be attentive around the hydraulic
hoses. Falling parts can damage the hose or cause it to burst.
Caution: Do not carry hydraulic components by their hoses or
joint connections. Always follow a safe transportation procedure.
Follow the instructions in the safety data sheet for which hydraulic
oil to use.
1. Remove the dust caps from the connector end of the nut split-
ter and from the hydraulic hose.
2. Connect the hydraulic hose to the pump. Plug the hydraulic
hose connection into the hand pump opening. Slide the threaded
sleeve over the hydraulic hose connection. Screw the threaded
sleeve tightly into the thread of the hydraulic hose connection. If
you feel that you need to use pliers, a wrench or another tool for
this process, disassemble the hose. Then repeat the process, as
