The battery chamber is located on the
back of the device. Slide the cover of the
battery chamber (14) off in the direction
of the arrow.
Pull the connecting clip out of the battery
chamber and insert a new 9V compound
battery. Make sure that you are inserting
the battery in the right way.
Place the cover (14) on the chamber and
push it in the opposite direction of the
arrow, until it clicks.
If the battery is low on charge, the low
battery signal will appear on the top left
of the display (2). Exchange the battery
as described above.
If the device is not used for a long period
of time, the battery will have to be remo-
ved from the battery chamber, since it
might leak.
External voltage supply
Make sure that you use only mains plugs which correspond to the established safety
instructions.
Observe the safety instructions contained in the operating manual of the mains plug.
The device can be supplied with power by means of a battery or by a suitable mains
plug. If a mains plug is used, the battery inserted is automatically disconnected.
A suitable mains plug has the following features:

The battery can only be connected to the
battery clip, if it is inserted in the right
way. Please do not use force when
connecting the battery to the clip.
Make sure that the battery's connecting
cable is not squeezed. We recommend
the use of alkaline batteries for a long life
time.
