PRECAUTIONS

Inspect yoke before each use. If damage is present, see maintenance section for instructions.
WARNING
Yoke produces a strong magnetic field.
WARNING
Persons with pacemakers or medical implants must stay 1.5 ft / 0.5 m
away from yoke during operation.
WARNING
Immersing the yoke in liquid of any kind can result in electrical shock. Do
not use yoke in the rain.
CAUTION
GFCI / GFI / RCCB / ELCB protection is recommended to prevent
electrical shock.
CAUTION
Do not exceed the rated duty cycle. Continuous use of the yoke over
extended times will generate excessive heat and may permanently
damage the yoke.
CAUTION
IEC 61140 Class 1 device with partial Class II insulation for cord
receptacle.
CAUTION
Do not abuse cord. Never carry yoke by cord or yank to disconnect from
receptacle. Never retrieve yoke by pulling on cord. A suspension loop is
provided on the housing above the front coil to accommodate a belt clip
or hanger loop.

Only use outdoor rated extension cords

CAUTION
Do not position equipment so that it is difficult to disconnect from line
power.
CAUTION
Use of equipment other than manufacturer recommendations may
invalidate safety measures.

OPERATION

1.
Attach power cord, making sure connection is secure. Connect the power supply to line power.
2.
Position yoke legs at right angles to the direction of suspected discontinuities. Adjust
legs as needed for best contact with surface.
3.
Depress trigger to energize yoke. Apply magnetic particles to area between legs.
While energized, blow off excess powder to reveal indications.
4.
Evaluate indications for size, shape, and relevant locations.
5.
Reposition yoke legs at 90-degrees to previous position and repeat steps 2-3 to
reveal indications in all directions.
6.
Demagnetize by slowly withdrawing yoke from surface, up to 18 in / 45 cm distance,
while yoke is energized.
