PERSONAL SAFETY
CAUTION! Wear protective equipment approved by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) or
American National Standards Institute (ANSI) when using the tool.
1.
Wear personal protection equipment such as safety goggles, gloves, steel toe footwear or a
hard hat as warranted by the work environment.
2.
Wear a NIOSH approved respirator that protects both the lower face and eyes during painting
operations whenever possible.
3.
Control the tool, personal movement and the work environment to avoid personal injury or
damage to the tool.
4.
Do not operate any tool when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications.
5.
Do not overreach when operating a tool. Proper footing and balance enables better control in
unexpected situations.
SPECIFIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1.
Toxic vapours produced by spraying certain materials can cause intoxication and serious
damage to your health. Always wear protective eye wear, gloves, and a respirator to prevent
toxic vapours, solvents or paint from coming into contact with your eyes or skin.
2.
Always use this tool in a well-ventilated spray booth or area.
3.
Do not use oxygen or any combustible/pressurized gas as a power source for this tool. This
could cause an explosion resulting in serious personal injury or death.
4.
Avoid using this tool around any ignition sources such as embers or open flames, as fluid and
solvent can be highly flammable or combustible.
5.
Do not use homogenate hydrocarbon solvent, as it can react with aluminum and zinc parts. It
can also react with chemicals that are made for aluminum and zinc parts.
6.
Never point the paint gun at others or yourself at any time.
7.
Before operating the tool, make sure all the screws & caps are securely tightened in case of
leakage. Ensure the free movement of the trigger and nozzle as well.
AIR TOOL PRECAUTIONS
1.
Inspect the tool's air line for cracks, fraying or other faults before each use. Discontinue use if
the air line is damaged or hissing is heard from the air line or connectors, while operating the
tool. Replace the defective component/air line.
2.
Do not allow people, mobile equipment or vehicles to pass over the unprotected air line.
Position the air line away from high traffic areas, in a reinforced conduit or place planks on both
sides of the air line to create a protective trench.
3.
Prevent damage to the air line by observing the following:
a.
Never carry the tool by the air line.
b.
Keep the air line away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
c.
Do not wrap the air line around the tool as sharp edges may pierce or crack the air line.
Coil the air line when storing.
4.
A damaged or disconnected air line under pressure may whip around and inflict personal injury
or damage the work area. Secure the compressor's air line to a fixed or permanent structure
with clamps or cable ties.
5.
Use a clean, dry, and regulated compressed air source rated at 30-50 PSI. Do not exceed
maximum operating pressure of 90 PSI.
