1. DESCRIPTION
The electromagnetic transformers are suitable for 12 V loads.
All models are class II independent transformers. The transformers have been produced in accordance with the
safety standard EN61558-2-6 and comply with the low-voltage guideline 2006/95/EC.
Dimmability: All transformers are dimmable with phase control (
A ferromagnetic dimmer should be loaded for more than 80 % to work properly with a dimmer.
2. INSTALLATION
2.1. Protection
Transformers that are not short-circuit resistant (320-00004, 320-00005 and 320-00006)
must be protected against overload and short-circuit. To this end, you must install fuses (
secondary circuit that have a rating adjusted to the nominal current of the output circuits (see "fuse per output"
in the table above and figure 1 for connection).
As an alternative, it is also possible to use the Niko fuse boxes that have a distribution function (320-00201,
320-00202 or 320-00203) (fig. 2).
The short-circuit resistant transformers (320-00001, 320-00002 and 320-00003) are equipped with
a built-in protection that can be used as protection of the outgoing circuits, provided that the minimum wire
cross-section and maximum wire length will be observed (see table below).
The protection of the products 320-00001, 320-00002 and 320-00003 is not self-regulating. You must
interrupt the voltage to reactivate the protection (
Attention: Control switches (10 A/250 Vac) must always be installed in the transformer's primary circuit.
2.2. Maximum distance to the load
Because of the relatively high currents (20 x Ipri) at the secondary side of the transformers the distance to the
load must always be kept as short as possible. This is necessary to limit the wire cross-section. Also take into
account a maximum voltage drop of 5%.

3. MOUNTING
3.1. 320-00001 and 320-00002
To flush mount these transformers, an opening with a minimum diameter of 63.5 mm (320-00001) and 55 mm
(320-00002) and a flush-mounting height of at least 100 mm is needed (fig. 2).
Observe the minimum distances around the transformer and the minimum distance to the load (fig. 3).
Optimal heat dissipation is required to guarantee proper operation (fig. 4).
Attention: The electromagnetic transformers must not be covered with thermally insulating materials.
When connecting 320-00001, a connection box with strain relief should be used (fig. 5).
The external cabling of 320-00001 cannot be replaced. If the cabling is damaged, the product must be
replaced.
3.2. Other reference codes
These transformers are designed for use in permanent indoor installations.
Mount the product preferably in a lockable electrical cabinet.
4. WARNINGS REGARDING INSTALLATION
The installation of products that will permanently be part of the electrical installation and which
include dangerous voltages, should be carried out by a qualified installer and in accordance with
the applicable regulations. This user manual must be presented to the user. It should be included
in the electrical installation file and it should be passed on to any new owners. Additional copies
are available on the Niko website or via Niko customer services.
5. CE MARKING
This product complies with all of the relevant European guidelines and regulations. For radio
equipment Niko llc declares that the radio equipment in this manual conforms with the 2014/53/
EU directive. The full text of the EU declaration of conformity is available at www.niko.eu under the
product reference, if applicable.
6. ENVIRONMENT
This product and/or the batteries provided cannot be disposited in non-recyclable waste. take your
discarded product to a recognised collection point. Just like producers and importers, you too play an
important role in the promotion of sorting, recycling and reuse of discarded electrical and electronic
equipment. To finance the rubbish collection and waste treatment, the government levies recycling
charges in certain cases (included in the price of this product).
