Points
• The game is generally played up to
15 or 21 points.
• The winning team has to win by two
clear points.
• Both teams can pick up points equally,
regardless of who is serving.
• Points are awarded to the opposing
team if:
○ the ball has touched the ground
(Picture E);
○ the ball has been touched more
than three times before it was
played onto the net;
○ the ball has been touched twice in a
row by the same person;
○ the ball hits the frame of the net
(Picture E);
○ the ball touches the net two times
in succession (Picture E);
○ the ball does not bounce off the
net, but stays lying on it.
• Points are lost if:
○ the ball was not moved in accord-
ance with the rules, e.g. was thrown
or played with two hands;
○ the ball hits a defender or the
defender plays the ball deliberately
or inadvertently even though the
attacking team is currently the active
team;
○ the net is moved, thus affecting the
trajectory of the ball.
