Mounting / Installation
Safety precautions
- The installation should only be carried out by qualified personnel in accordance with this operating manual and the regulations in force.
- Protective devices which were removed for assembly work should be replaced immediately after the assembly (and before connecting the
electricity).
- Assemble fans in such a way that the stability is guaranteed at all times during operation.
- Secure roof fans by the base frame to the roof base as instructed.
Supporting the weight at other places may damage the fan and endanger safety.
Installation site
- The installation site must be suitable for the respective fan as regards category, condition, ambient temperature and ambient medium (see
points 3.3, 3.4, 3.5)
- The foundation structure must be level and of sufficiently good bearing.
- The mounting surface must be as horizontal as possible, however mounting on a sloping surface with an inclination angle of up to 25° maxi-
mum is possible.
Installation/ Fixing
Roof fans are designed for mounting on a base. The base frame has a wide projection. There are holes in the base frame for fixing on the base.
- Place the sealing band on the base surface(for airtight bed)
- Place the roof fan with the base plate on the base
- Insert the connecting cable (if necessary, see Electrical connection 5.4)
- Plastic sealing washers under the mounting nuts prevent water from entering.
- Tighten bolts regularly in order to avoid stresses
- After fitting check by hand whether the impeller turns idle and without touching any frame part.
- The stability against collapse of the fan has been checked
Warping causes bearing damage and fatigue fractures! It impairs the function of the fan.
- No forces or vibrations should be transferred to the fan from the plant parts.
- Use adjustable connecting sleeves to connect to ducting.
Electrical connection
Safety notes
The electrical installation of the fans and components may only be carried out by trained personnel in observance of these Operating
Instructions and the regulations in force.
The non respect of these prescriptions can cause injuries by electrical impacts of installation parts which are under tension.
The following Standards and guidelines are to be observed:
- IEC 364 / DIN VDE 0100; DIN 57105-1 / VDE 0105-1; IN EN 60204-1 / VDE 0113-1
- pr EN 50154 / VDE 0165 for Ex version fans
- site regulations of the Electricity Supply Companies
