o Descaling
You can also descale your appliance (if water is leaking) or flush it with water.

Limescale residues can be removed using a commercially available descaling
agent. However, to best care for your appliance and achieve optimum results,
we recommend that our customers use the descaling agent Rotel "Calc Clean".
Fill the measuring cup at a ratio of 1:2 with 1/3 descaler and 2/3 water, and pour
it into the hole for refilling the water. NEVER HEAT IT UP! Pour out the liquid after
1 to 2 hours. Rinse it out with tap water several times.

• WHAT KIND OF WATER IS SUITABLE?

o Tap Water
The manufacturer recommends operating the appliance using tap water with a

total hardness of less than 17° German hardness (°dH, deutsche Härte). Call your
local water utilities service for information on the water hardness degree. Should
your area have extremely hard tap water, for the sake of your laundry, we rec-
ommend adding boiled or distilled water to the tap water at a ratio of 1:1.
Distilled Water
o
Please take into consideration that exclusively using distilled water could impede

the generation of steam. Water droplets could then drip out of the soleplate.
Distilled water should either be mixed with tap water at a ratio of 1:1, or you
should occasionally only use tap water 3 to 4 times.

• WHAT KIND OF WATER IS NOT SUITABLE?

o Water with Additives
Under no circumstances may starch, fabric softeners, perfume and finishing

agents be added, residues will build up in the steam chamber, which could dam-
age the appliance and dirty your laundry.
o Mineral Water
The carbonic acids in mineral water will cause degradation in the special steam

chamber.
o Rain or Pond Water
The so-called biofouling contaminates the water, which in turn obstructs the wa-

ter flow.
o Condensation Water from the Refrigerator or Dryer
This type of water can contain foreign bodies. The water flow will also be im-

peded.
