CLEARANCE TO SPRINKLERS
21. Local building codes must be followed to determine the
temperature requirement of any sprinkler head located
near the Heat Transfer system installation. The distance
between a sprinkler head and any point of the Heat
Transfer system discharge opening must not be closer
than 60" (152.4 cm). See Figure 15.
IMPORTANT: It is extremely important that you verify
the Sprinkler Head Sensor is set to the proper heat
setting. When the fireplace is operating normally, the
sprinkler could activate prematurely when the room
heats up.
Due to sharp edges and the weight of the assembly,
please use proper eye protection and gloves to reduce
the potential for injuries.
TELEVISION CONSIDERATIONS
Installing a television above a fireplace has become
increasingly popular; however, the areas above
any fireplace gets hot and most TV manufacturers
recommend against placing their products near a
heat source.
If you install a television above this fireplace,
Empire Comfort Systems accepts no responsibility
for damage or injuries. Follow the television
manufacturers installation instructions, including
any recommendations regarding proximity to
heat sources.
If you have a TV above your fireplace turn off
the fireplace and let it cool completely before
servicing or touching any buttons on the TV.

COMBUSTIBLE MANTEL OR TRIM INFORMATION
When the HMGW is properly installed above the fireplace,
the minimum mantel height above the fireplace opening,
and the maximum mantel depth dimensions are given for
combustible mantels and trim. See Figure 15. Because of
reduced wall temperatures above the fireplace, items such
as televisions, artwork, etc., may be placed on the wall above
16", and below the HMGW Trim Frame heat outlet duct.
Non-combustible board installation on the wall directly
above the fireplace is required per the Fireplace
Installation Instructions, when installing the HMGW
Gravity Heat Transfer System.
