Your new Acoustasonic SFX amplifier delivers astonish-
ing sound with award-winning SFX (Stereo Field
eXpansion, patent pending) technology. Equipped with 32
D S P (Digital Signal Processor) stereo effects, the
Acoustasonic SFX "psycho-acoustic" phenomenon is
receiving industry acclaim and has become the defining
event in the next level of musical experience. As a mem-
ber of the Fender family, your Acoustasonic SFX has pro-
fessional features built-in:
Independent channels for acoustic instruments and
vocals with individual tone and feedback controls .
80 watts per channel @ 8Ω (160 Watts R.M.S. To t a l ) .
10- and 8-inch "Special Design" speakers, and a
piezo horn for clean, powerful response.
Exclusive "String Dynamics" control for suppressing
high-frequency acoustical instrument harshness.
Noise reducing phase reverse switches.
Balanced 1/4 inch TRS (Tip/Ring/Sleeve) and 3-Pin
XLR input jacks.
Insert jacks for connection to external equipment.

1. INSTRUMENT - Plug your guitar in here.
2. GAIN - Adjusts the loudness of the instrument channel.
3 . TREBLE - Adjusts the high frequency range of the instrument channel.
4. MID - Adjusts the middle frequency range of the instrument channel.
5. BASS - Adjusts the low frequency range of the instrument channel.
6. STRING DYNAMICS - Controls a dynamic tone shaping filter on the
instrument channel. Rotating the knob clockwise reduces high-fre-
quency "harshness" when playing at high volumes and maintains
"crispness" when playing at lower levels.
7. FEEDBACK NOTCH - SLOWLY rotate this knob to locate and sup-
press feedback at a specific frequency on the instrument channel.
8 . D S P SEND - Adjusts instrument channel send level to the DSPe ffects circuit.
9 . I N S E RT- Input/output jack* (TRS) for instrument channel connection to eff e c t s
devices and other line-level equipment.
10. MIC - Plug your microphone in here. This three pin XLR balanced
female input connector is intended for input signals from low
impedance microphones.
11. LINE/INST - This 1/4 inch TRS input jack is suited for line-level equip-
ment such as high impedance microphones, keyboards and drum
machines. It accepts both balanced and unbalanced inputs.
12. GAIN - Adjusts the loudness of the mic/line channel.
13. PHASE - Reverses the phase of the mic/line channel useful for elimi-
nating feedback in instruments using dual pickup configurations.
14. TREBLE - Adjusts the high frequency range of the mic/line channel .
15. MID - Adjusts the middle frequency range of the mic/line channel.
16. BASS - Adjusts the low frequency range of the mic/line channel.

17. FEEDBACK NOTCH - SLOWLY rotate this knob to locate and sup-
press feedback at a specific frequency on the mic/line channel.
1 8 . D S P SEND - Adjusts mic/line channel send level to the DSP e ffects circuit.
19. INSERT - Input/output jack* (TRS) for mic/line channel connection to
effects devices and other line-level equipment.
20. BYPASS - Switch IN disables the SFX effect.
21. SFX - Adjusts the SFX effect level and intensity.
22. SFX ON - Illuminates when the SFX effect is active.
2 3 . D S P RETURN - Adjusts DSP e ffect level (wet signal) to be mixed with
the "dry" signal. Clockwise rotation increases the DSPwet signal level.
2 4 . MASTER VOLUME - Adjusts overall loudness of the Acoustasonic SFX.
25. OUTPUT PHASE - Reverses the phase of the amplifier, useful for
reducing "small environment" feedback.
2 6 . POWER - Illuminates when the Acoustasonic SFX is ON and receiving power.
27. DSP EFFECTS - Select from 32 DSP effects. The DSP send knob
must be turned above "1" for the effect to be heard on either channel.
The DSP effects are listed on the next page.
28. CLIP - Flashes when clipping (distortion) is present in the DSP circuit.
If unwanted distortion is heard on either channel when this LED flash-
es, reduce the DSP send level on that channel.
29. SIGNAL - Illuminates when an adequate input signal level exists for
proper operation of the the DSP effects circuitry. Increase the DSP
send level on each channel in turn so that the signal LED is illuminat-
ed when playing at a normal volume for that channel.
*
"Insert" jacks on the Acoustasonic SFX utilize the "Y–cord" (stereo-TRS to
dual mono-TS) configuration with Tip=send, Ring=return and Sleeve=ground.

circuitry processes the signal through
one of 32 stereo digital effects. The
stereo signal is then processed by the
SFX matrix circuit and sent to the
speakers creating a psychoacoustic
event that results in up to 300º of
stereo imaging.
