GENERAL
MOLE STOP is an easy-to-use solution to control vole and
mole populations. nevertheless, its effectiveness depends
on outside conditions such as ground conditions, magnitude
of infestation, environmental temperature etc. to a higher
degree compared to environmentally harmful toxins.
Filling test:
use a probe (e.g. a wooden pole) to track down some
tunnels and expose them along a length of approx. 30 cm.
Regularly check the openings. Those that are filled up first
are usually closest to the nest.
Effective period:
Due to the fact that the animals are extremely reluctant to
leave their familiar environment, it can take up to 3 weeks
for the animals to leave the area effected by ultrasound.
During this time, you should not move the device. A reduc-
tion in new earth knolls or their increasing distance to the
device is an indication that the device has started working.
Existing knolls should be levelled.
Additional information on solar operation:
Sunlight is directly transformed into electricity by the solar
panels and stored in the built-in niCd battery. This power
is then used to supply the device during the night and in
overcast conditions. when operated permanently (charging
and discharging), the battery should last many years. Its life
cycle will be reduced if it is not operated permanently. To
ensure proper disposal of the used battery, we recommend
having it replaced by one of the stated service points.

SAFETy INSTRUCTIONS

Batteries:
Only operate the device with the suitable batteries. Inef-
ficient zinc-carbon batteries are not suited for this device.
Mind the correct polarity when inserting the batteries. Do
not mix new batteries with old or discharged ones. If you
intend to not use the device for some time, remove the
batteries to prevent them from leaking. when disposing of
batteries, take into consideration environmental protection.
Do not dispose of batteries in the domestic waste, but drop
them off at a collection centre.
Solar panel:
Please mind that this device is not suited for temperatures
below 0 °C. Store the device in a closed space at a tempera-
ture below 0 °C.
Operation:
never place the device close to toddlers! Regularly check
the device for damage. never attempt to repair the device
yourself in case you find it to be damaged. Send the device
to the stated service address.
Child safety:
Keep packing (plastic bags, cardboard, etc.) out of reach
for children. Always operate the device with special care if
children are present. never let children play with the device.

PRIOR TO START-UP

Location:
The more compact the ground, the better the effect. The
vibrations are distributed in an almost circular manner (Fig.
A). Concrete slabs, large rocks (Fig. B) as well as garden
ponds interrupt the vibrations' distribution and reduce the
devices effect through the resulting acoustical shadows.
Garden beds (Fig. C) or knolls (Fig. D) are not suited as
locations as loose ground does not conduct vibrations very
well. what's more, the animals build their nests in compact
ground, most often in quiet areas of the garden (Fig. E).
Placing the device:
use the ground screw to insert the device into the ground
at a right angle with the surface until you hit the stop ring
(Fig. F). Even when using the device on a slope, make sure
to insert the device at a right angle with the surface (Fig. G).
To facilitate screwing the device into the ground, dampen
dry ground with water (Fig. H). The conical ground screw
compacts the ground around the device which results in a
connection that conducts sound waves particularly well
once the ground has dried.
For Mole Stop Solar:
Insert solar panel into the ground and align with sun's
course (southwards) (Fig. I).
NOTE: When using the 230-V adapter or the solar battery
or another external power source, you must remove the
batteries from the device!
START-UP
Intensity regulation:
To begin with, set the intensity regulator to its central
position (Fig. J). Activate the on/off switch and increase
the intensity until the device emits a maximum amount
of resonance vibration but does not yet produce any
interfering noises due to battery contact etc. Depending on
the ground structure (sound-conducting connection with
ground), the device exceeds the resonance frequency when
setting the intensity too high. This is indicated by a high tone
(frequency). Or, interfering noises result in undesired sound
emission into the air. In both cases and despite maximum
intensity, only a minimum of sound waves are actually con-
ducted into the ground which greatly reduces the device's
effect. The regulating range and maximum intensity depend
on the voltage of your power source.
Programme selection (Fig. K):
P1: Short vibration period, for low infestation or as a pre-
ventative measure. Battery life: approx. 8 to 10 weeks.
P2: Long vibration period, for intense exposure to sound
waves, battery life: approx. 3 to 4 weeks.
To prevent new infestation, the device should be oper-
ated permanently (P1). Repelling the animals once again
is increasingly more difficult and time-consuming than
preventing them from re-inhabiting the area.
Sometimes, a particularly resilient mole may react to the
disturbance with increased burrowing activity in the first
few days. In this case, as well as in case of serious infesta-
tion, switch programme selector to P2.
