PRÜFUNG / WARTUNG
Die Prüfung ist mindestens einmal jährlich,
bei schweren Einsatzbedingungen in kürzeren
Abständen, durch eine befähigte Person
vorzunehmen. Die Prüfungen sind im
Wesentlichen Sicht- und Funktionsprüfungen,
wobei der Zustand von Bauteilen hinsichtlich
Beschädigung, Verschleiß, Korrosion oder
sonstigen Veränderungen beurteilt sowie
die Vollständigkeit und Wirksamkeit der
Sicherheitseinrichtungen festgestellt werden
muss.
Reparaturen dürfen nur von Fachwerk-
stätten, die Original Yale-Ersatzteile
verwenden, durchgeführt werden.
Die Prüfungen sind vom Betreiber zu
veranlassen.

INTRODUCTION
All users must read these operating
instructions carefully prior to the initial op-
eration. These instructions are intended to
acquaint the user with the product and enable
him to use it to the full extent of its intended
capabilities. The operating instructions contain
important information on how to handle the
product in a safe, correct and economic way.
Acting in accordance with these instructions
helps to avoid dangers, reduce repair cost and
down time and to increase the reliability and
lifetime of the product. Apart from the operat-
ing instructions and the accident prevention
act valid for the respective country and area
where the product is used, also the commonly
accepted regulations for safe and professional
work must be adhered to.
CORRECT OPERATION
- The capacity indicated on the jack is the
maximum safe working load (WLL) which
must not be exceeded.
- Do not lift loads while personnel are in the
danger zone.
- Do not allow personnel to pass under a
lifted load.
- After lifting, a load must not be left
unattended for a longer period of time.
- The operator must ensure that the load is
attached in a manner that does not expose
himself or other personnel to danger by the
jack or the load.
- The jack may be used at ambient tempera-
tures between -10 °C and +50 °C.
Consult the manufacturer in case of extreme
working conditions.
- The accident prevention act and/or safety
regulations of the respective country for
using hydraulic jacks must be strictly
adhered to.
- In order to ensure correct operation not
only the operation instructions, but also the
conditions for inspection and maintenance
must be complied with. lf defects are found
stop using the jack immediately.
INCORRECT OPERATION
- Do not exceed the rated capacity of the jack.
- Welding on jack is strictly forbidden.
- Avoid side pull, i. e. side load on either
housing.
- Do not throw the jack down. Always place it
properly on the ground.
INSPECTION PRIOR TO INITIAL
OPERATION
Each jack must be inspected prior to initial
operation by a competent person. The
inspection is visual and functional and shall
establish that the jack is safe and has not
EN
been damaged by incorrect transport or
storage. Inspections should be made by a
representative of the manufacturer or the
supplier although the company can assign its
own suitably trained personnel.
INSPECTION BEFORE STARTING
WORK
Before starting work inspect the jack every
time for visual defects. Furthermore test the
jack of leakages.
OPERATION: LIFTING THE LOAD
• The jack is to be used in vertical position
only.
• To close the relief valve positioned at the
front of the jack, turn the valve clockwise
with the operation lever. The relief valve
should be hand-tight only.
ATTENTION: Do not over-tighten as this
can damage the valve seat!
• Position the jack under the load safely.
• Adjust screw extension to eliminate space
between the jack and the load.
• Position the lever in the pump socket and
begin pumping to raise the load.
OPERATION: LOWERING THE LOAD
• To open the relief valve positioned at
the front of the jack, turn the valve anti-
clockwise, using the operating lever.
• The speed at which the jack lowers is in
direct proportion to the speed at which the
valve is opened.
• Before lowering a load, ensure that all
personell are clear of the load.
IMPORTANT POINTS
• Jacks should not be subjected to off -centre
loads.
• Check oil level regularly.
• Ensure piston is clean before lowering.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
• Ensure that jack is on solid ground, with the
total base supported.
• If the ground is not solid, use a steel plate
to support the load.
• Never use the jack on its edge or
diagonally.
• If the load is to be left in the raised position,
use packing pieces as additional support.
• Do not drop loads on the piston or the pump
plunger.
• Yale-Jacks are fi tted with internal pressure
relief valve to prevent.
• Remove operating lever when not in use.
• Do not use damaged or leaking jacks.
CHECKING OIL LEVEL
• Check the oil level regularly by retracting
the piston fully, placing the jack in a vertical
position and carefully removing the rubber
oil-fi ller plug. The oil level should be up to
the hole. Top-up as necessary, but do not
over-fi ll. Replace the rubber oil-fi ller plug
• Only use high quality Yale hydraulic oil
to Class ISO 32.
• Ensure that everything is clean when
working on hydraulic equipment.
BLEEDING AIR FROM THE SYSTEM
In case the piston feels „spongy" during
operation, air may have entered the pressure
system. To remove air from the system,
open the relief valve, operate the pumping
mechanism several times, close the relief valve
and advance the piston without load. Turn the
jack upside down, open the relief valve and
push the piston closed. Repeat until all the air
is removed. After carrying out the air bleeding
procedure, check the oil level.
INSPECTION / MAINTENANCE
To ensure that the jacks remain in safe working
order they are to be subjected to regular
inspections by a competent person.
Inspections are to be annual unless adverse
working conditions dictate shorter periods.
The components of the jack are to be
inspected for damage, wear, corrosion or other
irregularities and all safety devices are to be
checked for completeness and eff ectiveness.
To check for worn parts it may be necessary
to disassemble the jack.
Repairs may only be carried out by a
specialist workshop that uses original
Yale spare parts.
Inspections are instigated by the user
