plied with power via the AC/AC adaptor, the batteries
inserted will be disconnected.
– For power supply via the AC /AC adaptor, connect
the adaptor to the jack 15 V~ (9).
– For battery operation, loosen the four screws at the
lower part of the housing and remove it. Connect
the battery poles to the battery snaps of the unit.
Insert the batteries into the support. Replace the
lower part of the housing and fasten it with screws.
If the unit is not in use for a longer period of time,
always remove the batteries to prevent damage
due to battery leakage.
2) Connect the microphone to the XLR input (13). The
XLR jack has a lock. To unlock the plug, push down
the PUSH lever and remove the plug.
3) Connect the following unit with line level input (e. g.
amplifier, mixer) to the XLR output (12).
For unbalanced connection, the contacts 1 (ground)
and 3 of the XLR inline jack should be bridged. The
servo-balanced circuit will automatically balance the
6 dB level loss which would occur with unbalanced
connection.
4) It is also possible to mix the amplified microphone
signal to a stereo line channel:
– To add the microphone signal to the stereo line
signal of another signal source, connect the signal
source to the RCA input (11).
– To feed the output signal of the stereo line chan-
nel to a subsequent unit with line level input (e. g.
recorder), connect the unit to the RCA output (10).
5) For power supply via the AC/AC adaptor, connect the
adaptor to a mains socket (230 V/ 50 Hz).
5 Operation
1) For a phantom-powered condenser microphone, ac-
tivate the phantom power (+24 V): Press down the
button PHANTOM (3).
ATTENTION Do not connect any unbalanced
microphone to the microphone input (13) when
the phantom power has been activated; the micro-
phone may be damaged.
2) Switch on the unit with the on / off switch POWER (8).
The LED above the selector switch GAIN (1) is green
to indicate operation.
3) Via the selector switch GAIN (1), the amplification of
the microphone signal can be ad justed in 11 steps
from 20 dB to 70 dB. Adjust the selector switch ac-
cording to the de sired amplification. In case of over-
load, the LED above the selector switch is red.
4) For phase reversal of the microphone signal by 180°,
press down the button PHASE (4).
5) The mixing control LEVEL (2) is used to add the
micro phone signal to the stereo line channel. Turn up
the control according to the de sired signal level. The
output signal of the stereo line channel is avail able
at the RCA jacks LINE OUTPUT (10).
6) The PAN pot (7) is used to distribute the mono micro-
phone signal to the stereo line channel. The setting of
the pan pot defines the position of the microphone
signal in the stereo sound:
When the pan pot is in the central position, the signal
appears to be acoustically in the centre. The more the
pan pot is turned to the left (L) the more the signal
is acoustically moved to the left; the more the pan
pot is turned to the right (R), the more the signal is
moved to the right.
7) To suppress high interference frequencies with the
low-pass filter, press down the button LP 12 kHz (5).
8) To suppress low interference frequencies with the
high-pass filter, press down the button HP 100 Hz (6).
