1. The slip connector section has three holes located at the top of the pipe. After the support box
has been installed either the DuraVent 8DBK-ADSL Adapter ICC Excel Flue Extension (8EX)
Selkirk Stovepipe Adaptor,Or Single Wall Chimney Adapter slip connector is inserted into the
bottom of the support box. Follow the manufacturer's installation instructions. Some adapters
require installation onto the bottom of the fi rst section of pipe placed into the support box from
the attic or roof. Attach the single wall slip connector to the adapter with three sheet metal
screws.
2. Slip the starter section over the slip connector. Slide the starter section up only enough to
allow the placement unit.
3. Once the unit is in place insert the bottom of the of the starter section into the unit.
At fi rst glance you may become concerned that smoke will escape the pipe and enter the room.
This is not how the system will work. The vacuum in the chimney system will always pull air into
the chimney. If you experience a downdraft with your installation it indicates that additional chim-
ney height or a specialty draft cap may be required for your chimney to operate correctly. Contact
your dealer for further information regarding downdrafts.
Malm connector pipe is made of heavy 22 guage cold rolled steel. Approximately 60% thicker
than standard single wall stove pipes and is designed to last for many years.
