CLEARANCES
Make sure that minimum clearances to combustible materials are maintained during installation including
adequate space for the proper operation and servicing of the heater.
The minimum clearances from the appliance to combustibles are shown on fi gures 1 and 2. Place the
appliance on a fl at, solid, continuous surface (i.e. wood, tile, concrete, metal). This unit does not require a
hearth or other type of fl oor protection.
NOTE: Ensure that the combustion air opening of the heater is not obstructed. Provision must be made
for adequate combustion and ventilation air, with suffi cient clearances around the opening. There must be
adequate accessibility clearance for servicing and proper operation.

Children and adults should be alerted to the hazards of high surface temperature and should
stay away to avoid burns or clothing ignition. Young children should be carefully supervised
when they are in the same room as the appliance. Toddlers, young children, and others may be
susceptible to accidental contact burns. A physical barrier is recommended if there are at-risk
individuals in the house. To restrict access to a fi replace or stove, install an adjustable safety
gate to keep toddlers, young children, and other at-risk individuals out of the room and away
from hot surfaces.
Any safety screen or guard removed for servicing an appliance must be replaced prior to oper-
ating the appliance. If the barrier becomes damaged, the barrier shall be replaced with the man-
ufacturer's barrier for this appliance.
Clothing or other fl ammable material should not be placed on or near the appliance.
