5.2. STARTING THE PUMP
□ Check that the suction pipe is properly connected to the suction port;
□ Check that the discharge pipe is properly connected to the discharge port;
□ Check that the suction hose is equipped with a strainer;
□ Check that the suction pipe is correctly positioned in water;
□ Check that the suction and discharge hose are free of bottle necks or bends;
□ Check that the priming of the pump has been carried out.
The following instructions apply to each starting:
1.
Open the fuel valve [Fig. 15];
2.
Put ON/OFF switch to ON (START) [Fig. 16];
3.
Slightly pull the Recoil starter rope until it becomes a bit difficult. This is the "compression" point
[Fig. 17]. Let the rope coil back to its initial position;
4.
Push the decompression lever to the starting position [Fig. 18];
5.
Then pull rapidly the Recoil starter [Fig. 19].
□ Do not fully pull the rope out and do not suddenly release it. Handle it gently until it is reeled in.
6.
Once the engine has started, move the speed control to half way position [Fig. 20].
NOTE
If the engine does not start, although you have tried several times, contact your IMER FRANCE
dealer or the closest After Sales Service.
RATED SPEED:
Once the engine has started:
1.
Let the engine run, IDLE, for 1 minutes;
2.
For self-priming, place speed control to fast position. [Fig. 16];
3.
Adjust the pump flow using the speed control lever.
NOTE
The flow of the pump is controlled by adjusting the engine speed. The flow rate is increased by
moving the speed control to fast position. The flow rate is reduced by moving the speed control
to IDLE position.
