VALVE OPERATION
The V230 has two pistons to deviate the water flow according to the water treatment
system requirements. The relative position of the pistons determine the valve status:
according to the combined position of the two piston the valve can be in 4 different
status which corresponds to service position, backwash position, brine draw/slow rinse
position and fast rinse position. The input for the pistons movement is obtained by properly
pressurizing the valve chambers from on side or the other of the pistons, this is done by
the pressure distributor pilot that are actuated by a rotating camshaft. Different camshaft
models exist depending on chosen controller, on the application and on the system type
(simplex, duplex etc).
For pressurizing of the valve either water or compressed air can be used. For continuous
flow applications and duplex systems, in case water is used as pressurizing fluid, it is
recommended to take it from a different source than the inlet water that is treated in order
to ensure constant pressure to control the valve.
Warning! - pressurizing fluids to control the valve must be complaint to the following
specifications:
• Compressed air: must be filtered from oils and impurity but not dried, do not
install devices on the pilot line that dry the air, the air must be at ambient
humidity otherwise the seals of the distributor system can be damaged,
recommended feed pressure must be always between 2 and 6 BAR and
should be the same as the inlet water pressure of system.
• Water: the water must filtered from impurities, recommended feed pressure
must be always between 2 and 6 BAR and should be the same as the inlet
water pressure of system.
