G. UV LAMP REPLACEMENT & QUARTZ TUBE MAINTENANCE
The High Output UV bulb in your Elektra UV unit is a useful life of approximately 9000 hours of operation
(except in the case of repeated lightings where its lifespan could be lower).
The replacement of lamp after 9000 hours is obligatory.
The quartz tube should be removed, inspected and cleaned from the reactor every year and at each
replacement of lamp.
Reminder: Do not touch the UV bulb glass with your bare hands.
That can shorten its life. Grasp the bulb on the white ceramic prong end
cotton cloth or clean cotton gloves to handle the UV bulb. (If you have touched the bulb with
your bare hands, you must wipe the bulb glass off with spirit vinegar using a clean soft
cotton cloth)

Allow the ultraviolet lamp to cool for at least 10 minutes before handling.

Carefully place the removed bulb in a safe location while cleaning the quartz tube.

STOP THE FILTRATION.
(Elektra UV must be switch off)
BLEED the Elektra UV unit.
Remove the Elektra UV unit from the water circulation system.
Unscrew the top black plastic housing union attached to the tee fitting.
Unscrew the 4-pin connector from the lamp (attached to the ballast
wires) by turning the quartz tube assembly.
Grasp the bulb by the white ceramic prong end and
unplug it from the electrical connector.
Carefully remove it from the quartz tube.
