QUARTZ MOVEMENT AND PENDULUM INSTRUCTION
CLOCK SET UP INSTRUCTIONS
1. Move the clock close to its final location. Make sure the clock is positioned firmly on the floor. Levelers are provided
on the bottom of the cabinet. (See figure 1). WARNING: ENSURE CLOCK IS POSITIONED SQUARE AND FIRM ON THE
FLOOR SO THAT IT WILL NOT FALL OVER. ADJUST LEVELERS FOR MAXIMUM STABILITY AND PROPER ALIGNMENT.
2. Access to the clock's quartz movement, is made in two possible ways; through the front door(s), or through the upper
back access panel. If access is not possible through the front door(s), then you will need to remove the upper back
access panel. This panel was secured for shipment with retainer clips. (See Figure 2) Turn the retainer clips to allow
the back access panel to slide out of the grooves. Replace this panel after set up is complete, and turn the retainer clips
to hold it in position.
3. Some clocks have decorative chains and weight shells. The chains are used to support the decorative weight shells, and
have been secured for shipment in a bag and are located directly under the quartz movement. As you remove the
chains from the bag, please notice each chain has a hook at the end. These hooks are used to hang the decorative
weight shells. (See figure 3).
WARNING: KEEP PLASTIC BAGS AND SMALL PARTS AWAY FROM CHILDREN.
QUARTZ MOVEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
SETTING THE TIME
1. Before inserting the batteries (Figure 6), adjust the time to 5:50 by using the Time Setting knob (Figure 6) to rotate the
hands CLOCKWISE.
2. Install two "C" size alkaline batteries according to the +/- symbols in the battery holders. (Figure 6)
Do not install the batteries on the Pendulum Drive motor at this time. (Figure 7)
3. Set the time by using the Time Setting knob (Figure 6) to rotate the hands CLOCKWISE. If setting the time for PM, make
sure the hour hand passes through 12 o'clock noon until the desired time is shown. While setting the time, it is normal
to hear sounds from the movement or speaker. Continue advancing the time until the correct time is shown. Once the
time is set, the melody will adjust to the time selected, however, it is important that the clock movement be allowed to
operate for at least one hour for the chime sequence to become fully functional. The clock may chime out of sequence
during the first hour of operation. The quartz movement is highly accurate and has been adjusted at the factory for
precise time keeping.

PENDULUM SET-UP (for pendulum movements only)
1. Release the Pendulum Guide from the Transport-Locking Pin (Figure 7) by gently pushing it sideways,
allowing the guide to hang freely.
2. Hang the pendulum on the pendulum guide. (Figure 4 & Figure 7)
3. Install two "D" size alkaline battery for pendulum drive. (Figure 7)
4. Move the pendulum to the far left of center and release. (Figure 5)
5. Let the clock operate a few minutes until the pendulum settles into an even swinging motion.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
If the clock begins to lose time, chime weakens, or pendulum stops to swing, this is the sign of weak or
exhausted batteries. Replace with new alkaline batteries.
= turns off the chime melody and strike from 11:00PM to 5:45AM
(Automatic Nightime volume shut-off)
