3. Utilization of belay glasses
Wearing Y&Y belay glasses prevents the belayer from neck pain
and provides a better concentration.
For first utilizations, it is highly recommended to get used to
them.
a- For a better utilization, they should be put high on nose, in
front of eyes
b- The frame is thin and provides double views
1) A vision through the prisms on climber
2) A peripheral vision which allows the belayer to see the
surroundings (rope and belay device) and to control the
movement.
4. SETTIng
- Flexible glasses bow and nose bridge, you can lightly fold
them to adapt the frame to the sharp of your face
- Two ways to attach the rope retainer.
5. With eyeglasses and sunglasses
Belay glasses should be placed before eyeglasses/sunglasses,
as close as possible to your eyes, for settle them correctly, you
will need to push your eyeglasses/sunglasses a little bit, but this
will not influence your vision
6. With eyeglasses and sunglasses
a- Through the prisms, the perception of distance may seem
shorter than reality. That will influence
the balance lightly. Gradually finding benchmarks in the space
will help to adapt yourself quickly into utilization
b- The belayer should at first put the glasses at the top of nose
and then move them in front of eyes from the moment when
climber reaches at the second anchor (about 3 meters). Please
always keep a hand at the rope
c- First uses may strain the eyes depending on each user's
view. But this will quickly disappear. If not, the reason may be
the flaw of prism parallelism, in this case please check the
terms of warranty
d- Y&Y belay glasses bring comfort and safety, but they cannot
replace the natural eye view. If having any doubt, you should
raise your head and check your climber without glasses. In the
area where there is a risk of rock falls, it is not recommended
to use belay glasses
e- Attention to the position of sun, don't see look at it directly
7. Maintenance
Special attention is necessary to keep your belay glasses as
long as possible and the proper maintenance will prolong the
efficiency
a- The belay glasses should be kept in dry environment and
away from heat source.
b- Please use microfiber glasses cloth to clean belay glasses.
Don't touch the prism with fingers and put them in glasses case.
To clean nose pads, it is better to use soap water, separately
from the frame.
