The instructions in this manual must be read, understood and complied with to ensure
correct and safe erection and operation of the shaft ladders. Failure to comply with these
instructions may lead to fatal accidents, injury or damage to property.
This manual must be available at the assembly/installation location at all times and
must be read, understood and the instructions in it followed by all persons assembling/
installing the shaft ladders.
In addition to the instructions in this manual, the following documents/regulations must
be complied with when installing, using and servicing the equipment:
• EN 14396:2004-04 Fixed ladders for manholes
• regulations named in this manual
• local, regional and national regulations and accident prevention regulations
• recognised special procedures for correct and safe use of shaft ladders
Copyright to these instructions for assembly and use rests with the manufacturer. The
manufacturer also reserves all rights arising from this documentation, in particular in
connection with the granting of a patent or registration of utility patents. Violations will
require payment of damages.
The description of procedure for assembly of the shaft ladder system is contained in
the illustrations section of this manual. The following must also be observed during
assembly:
