The level controller has three different operating modes:
- aquaniveau I
- aquaniveau I
- aquaniveau II
A changeover switch allows the change between the two versions aquaniveau I and II.
The aquaniveau is supplied with a time delay that guarantees a minimum running time of 15
seconds for the pump. This prevents too frequent switchings and protects the pump.
Note: In case of a refill directly from the reverse osmosis unit, from the water tap or from very big
storage tanks there is a risk that an overflow of the aquarium occurs when the unit fails (blockade
of the floaters, defect of the aquaniveau or improper close of the solenoid valve). In case of sea
water, the salt content may decrease to a dangerous level.
Power requirements: 220 V/50 Hz
Output: max. 200 W
aquaniveau I
The version aquaniveau I contains an automatic refill that adds evaporated water from a storage
tank. This automatic replacement has been proven especially in sea water aquaria to avoid
variations in salt density which are disadvantageous for the aquarium population.
But also for fresh water aquaria without any cover or aquaria with open filter tanks (i. e. „trickle
filters") should be equipped with an automatic refill system to increase the operation safety. The
refill water is either added via an appropriate pump from a separate storage tank or via a reverse
osmosis unit which is controlled by a solenoid valve. The latter is only recommended if quantities of
more than ten litres of water per refilling process are required.
The version aquaniveau I has two operating modes:
1. Operation with one float switch (automatic refill without a switch to protect the pump from
running dry).
2. Operation with two float switches (automatic refill and safety switch which protects the pump
from running dry while refilling from a storage tank).
Operating mode of the aquaniveau I with one float switch
Connect the float switch to the upper socket S1. Plug the main plug in and the LED „power"
•
lights up. Put the changeover switch in position 1.
Fix the float switch with the holder in the filter tank. The floater marks the maximum water level
•
at its upper position. In this position, the LED „sensor 1" must go off. If this LED lights up,
remove the holding clips of the floater, turn the floater up and fix the clips again at the bottom
end of the float switch.
Plug the pump or the solenoid valve into the socket of the aquaniveau. The pump or the valve
•
will be switched on when the floater sinks during falling water level. The LED „sensor 1" and
„output" light up.
