Minilux 18-093
Fitting and operating instructions
1. Areas of application.
Minilux 18-093 Day/Light Switch is designed for
fitting in boards on DIN rails.
Light Sensor 43-198, Fig. 1, which measures the
current daylight level, is connected to 18-093.
Areas where the day/night switch can be of benefit.
- Car parks
- Outdoor areas
- Footpaths
- Street lighting
2. Function.
Minilux 18-093 Day/Night Switch with negative
hysteresis, switches On the light in the evening when
the "Lux On" setting is reached. In the morning, the
light is switched Off at the lower "Lux Off" setting.
See Fig. 4.
Minilux 18-093 Day/Night Switch has an integrated
clock function allowing the light to be switched Off
(blocked) completely during a predefined period, for
example late at night. The period is set with "Time On",
start time blocking, and "Time Off", stop time blocking.
See Fig. 4.
Minilux 18-093 Day/Night Switch switches On the
light immediately after a power failure for one minute,
and on startup.
Manuel:
Deactivating the time blocking period.
The time blocking period can be deactivated by fitting
a switch between terminals øC1 and øC2.
Test function:
With the indicator in pos. "Test" the test function is
activated, see Fig. 6D. The light is switched On an
Off for five seconds at a time. The display shows
the current daylight level.
When pos. "Test" is left the test function is stopped.
After 5 min. the test function is stopped
automatically.
3. Installation
Location:
In order to achieve optimum lighting control, you are
recommended to position Light Sensor 43-198 facing
north/east. Make sure that Light Sensor 43-198 is not
affected by other light sources or by the light being
controlled. Changes in the daylight level as a result
of reflections, fallen leaves, tree felling or planting
may alter the switching times. Fig. 2.
Remember to change the setting on the
light sensor to 3-300 lux.
Fitting:
The product is class I
The installation must be installed as a high voltage
installation. Max. wire length to light sensor
100m, 3 x 1.5
For wiring diagram, see Fig. 3.
4. Adjustment.
Factory setting:
Lux On: 35 lux
Lux Off: 20 lux
Clock: Off
Switch between the menus by pressing "Mode".
Press "Set" to change the settings. See Fig. 8.
There is a difference between:
Long press = press longer than 1 sec.
Short press = press less than 1 sec.
After 15 sec. the unit automatically returns to operational.
Lux On setting, Fig. 6A:
Sets the lux value at which Minilux 18-093
switches On the light.
Long press on "Set" = change by 10 steps.
Short press on "Set" = change by 1 step.
Lux Off setting, Fig. 6B:
Sets the lux value at which Minilux 18-093
switches Off the light.
Long press on "Set" = change by 10 steps.
Short press on "Set" = change by 1 step.
Clock, setting, Fig. 6C:
Activating clock function and setting current time.
Fig. 7:
Display shows "Off"
Long press on "Set" = Activates the clock.
Long press on "Set" = change hours.
Short press on "Set" = change minutes.
Deactivating clock function:
Press "Mode" 3 times, until the indicator is
positioned under the "clock"
Display shows current time, e.g. 22:41, Fig. 7
Long press on "Set" = change hours.
Press until the clock shows: 23:xx (e.g. 23:41)
Make another long press and the clock shows: Off
When the display shows Off, the clock is deactivated.
"Off" falls between 23:xx and 00:xx
Time On setting, Fig. 6E:
Setting the time where the blocking period starts
(light switches Off)
The function is only accessible when the clock is active.
Long press on "Set" = change hours.
Short press on "Set" = change minutes.
Time Off setting, Fig. 6F:
Setting the time where the blocking period stops
(light switches On)
The function is only accessible when the clock is active.
Long press on "Set" = change hours.
Short press on "Set" = change minutes.
Clock ±1 hour, setting, Fig. 6G:
Used to switch between summer and winter time.
Short press on "Set" = change by 1 hour.
Display in operational mode:
Once the unit is in operation, the current lux value at
the light sensor is displayed. Fig. 6
Light level indication:
If the light level is lower than the "Lux On" setting, it
is shown in the display with a bar over the "lamp"
icon. Fig. 8.
The indication has no time delay and is visible in the
different menus.
Indication of time blocking:
If the time blocking period is activated, the bars flash
On and Off above Time On and Time Off, Fig. 9.
5. Troubleshooting
