Minilux Control DIM 74-360
Fitting and operating instructions
Areas of application
The Minilux Control 74-360 light control is designed
for fi tting in boards on DIN rails.
It is equipped with Movement Sensor 41-262, which
measures the current daylight levels and acts as a
presence detector.
Outdoors:
- Carports
- Driveways
- Footpaths
- Car parks
- Outdoor areas
Indoors:
- Staircase
- Display windows
- Pedestrian areas
Function
Minilux Control 74-360 continuously measures daylight
levels. If the daylight level is below the set lux value
(Lux on), Minilux Control switches on the lighting.
The light comes on at the set dimmer level (Dim) and
Minilux Control acts as a movement sensor. If Minilux
Control detects movement, the light level increases
to maximum. When the sensor no longer detects
movement, the light remains on at the maximum light
level for the preset time (Off delay), after which time the
light returns to its dimmed setting.
When Minilux Control detects that the daylight level is
above the set lux value (Lux on), it switches off the light.
If movement causes the light to come on at maximum
power, the light will only go off once the set time (Off
delay) has expired.
With CLOCK activated:
Minilux Control has an integrated clock function that
allows the light to be switched off (blocked) for a
predetermined period of time, e.g. overnight. During
this period, Minilux Control will turn the light on to
maximum level whenever the PIR detects movement.
The block function is set using the Time on and Time
off settings, see Fig. 1 and Fig. 4.
With BUTTON input B5:
The button has 2 functions.
- When movement has been detected and the light
has been activated, the Off delay time can be reset by
pressing the button. This turns off the light or dims it to
the set level.
- When the light is dimmed or off (blocked) and the
daylight level is below the set lux value, pressing the
button will switch the light on at maximum light level
Test function:
Activate the test function by pressing the test button
whilst Minilux Control is operational.
The light will come on at maximum level and dim once
no activity is detected by the movement sensor (Go
test).
After 5 minutes, the test function will stop
automatically.
The test can be stopped by pressing the test button a
second time.
Installation
Locatation:
To achieve optimal lighting control when using multiple
41-262/41-272 movement sensors, we recommend
that the 41-262 movement sensor be sited so that it
is exposed to the minimal amount of daylight. The 41-
262 movement sensor has an integrated light sensor.
Avoid positioning the movement sensor, which has
a built-in light sensor, where it can 'see' the light it is
controlling.
Fitting:
Sensor wires are installed as a low-voltage
installation: 2 x 2 x 0.6mm 2 - max. 200 metres.
Load:
During start-up, the unit automatically detects the type
of connected load.
The load type RL or RC can be manually selected
from the from the test menu as shown in Fig. 6.
The test menu is activated by pressing the test button.
Load type is selected by activating "Set –".
OUT1 = RL, inductive load (leading edge controlled),
OUT2 = RC, capacitative load (rear edge controlled)
Once load type has been selected, restart by pressing
"Set +". This brings up a counter in the display, which
counts down from 15 after which the unit restarts.
Connection diagram Fig. 2
The unit should be connected with power off.
Settings
Factory setting:
Lux on: 35 lx
Off delay: 5 mins
Clock OFF:
Dim: 30%.
Switch between the menus by pressing "Mode".
Press "Set -" or "Set +" to change the settings.
"Set +" = Increases the value.
"Set -" = Reduces the value.
There is a difference between:
Long press = press longer than 1 sec.
Short press = press less than 1 sec.
The unit automatically returns to operational mode
after 15 seconds.
Lux on setting Fig. 4A:
Sets the lux value at which Minilux Control 74-360 is
activated / deactivated.
Long press on "Set +/–" = change by 10 steps.
Short press on "Set +/–" = change by 1 step.
Off delay Fig. 4B:

out. After the last recorded movement.
Long press on "Set +/–" = change by 10 steps.
Short press on "Set +/–" = change by 1 step.

Display shows "Off" (Clock deactivated)
A long press on "Set +" will activate the clock.
Display shows "00:00"
Long press on "Set +/–" = change hours.
Short press on "Set +/–" = change minutes.
Deactivating Clock function Figs. 4C and 5:
Display shows current time, e.g. 23:54
A long press on "Set +" and "Off" will appear in the
display. The Clock function is now deactivated.
"Off" falls between 23:xx and 00:xx

Display in operational mode:
Once the unit is in operation, the current lux value at
the light sensor is displayed.
Light level indicator:
If the light level is lower than the "Lux on" setting, a
bar appears in the display above the lamp icon.
See Fig. 7.
This indicator is instantaneous and is visible in the
various menus.
Indication of time blocking:
If the blocking period is activated, the bars above

Reset:
Keep "Set +" pressed for >5 sec. A counter will appear
in the display that will count down from 15, after which
the unit will restart.
If the load type for the unit is changed, a reset
must be performed.
Factory reset:
Press "Set -" for more than 10 sec.
A counter will appear in the display that will count
down from 15, after which the unit will restart.
The unit has now returned to its original factory
