Installation and Configuration in Windows Me
1. Once you have inserted the ISDN PCI Card TA card in its slot in the PC, the
hardware recognition facility of Windows Me will recognize the new hardware and
automatically start the Add New Hardware Wizard. Click Next.
2. The Hardware Wizard updates the driver database, copying the ISDN PCI Card TA
driver to your hard disk drive. This process takes a bit of time; watch the progress
indicator on your screen.
3. When the software installation is completed, the ISDN PCI Card TA configuration
wizard will start. Your ISDN service provider uses a specific D channel protocol for
your ISDN access. For a European ISDN access this will almost always be
DSS1. If the ISDN provider or the PABX you are connected to uses a different D
channel protocol, select this protocol here. If you do not know which D channel
protocol you are using, contact your telephone company.
4. The two following dialog boxes configure the MSNs for the two available B
channels. Your telephone company will have informed you which MSNs (multiple
subscriber numbers) can be used to call you on your ISDN line. Only Dial-Up
Networking and the Loopback Test will use the MSNs entered in this dialog box.
You can use the same or different MSNs for the various applications, which are
configured there. This concludes the installation process.
5. Click Finish to continue.
6. Restart your PC. Click Yes to confirm.
After the system restarts, your ISDN PCI Card TA is ready to use.
Installation and Configuration in Windows NT 4.0
This description assumes that you have not yet installed a network. If you already
have installed a network or dial-up networking on your PC, some of the following
steps may not be necessary. Please note that the Windows NT installation disk
may have to be inserted.
1. After you have installed your ISDN PCI Card TA hardware, start your PC.
2. In Control Panel, double-click the Network icon. Click the Network Adapter tab
and click Add.
3. After the computer generates the network adapter option list, click Have Disk.
4. Enter the source directory where the driver software is located. For example, if
your CD-ROM drive uses the drive letter D:, enter D:\WINNT40.
5. Select the PCI ISDN entry: Then click OK.
6. The Windows device drivers will now be installed. Once this is complete, the
ISDN configuration dialog box will open. Do not make any changes now, but click
OK to configure the ISDN parameters later.
