Safety notes:
This is not a toy; it is not suitable for young persons under fourteen years of age.
•
The unit is approved for use exclusively in battery-operated radio-controlled models.
•
It is not permissible to carry out modifications of any kind to the speed controller.
•
Never use this power unit in water. It is essential to prevent water, dirt and other foreign bodies getting into the controller. Install the speed controller in such a way
•
that it cannot come into contact with grease, water or oil.
Do not connect the power unit to an operating voltage outside the stated range.
•
Motors fitted with boat or aeroplane propellers or gearboxes are potentially dangerous objects which require cautious handling to avoid hazards. For this reason
•
keep well clear of the power unit at all times when the drive battery is connected to it. Technical faults, whether electrical or mechanical in nature, may cause the
motor to burst into life unexpectedly, hurling parts off at high speed, which could cause serious injury.
Disconnect the battery when it needs to be charged, and when the model is not to be used in the immediate future.
•
Do not switch the speed controller on until you have plugged it into the receiver and switched the transmitter on.
•
Avoid reverse polarity and short-circuits between the power cables, as the speed controller is not protected against this error, and will instantly be ruined.
•
Carry out a range check on the ground before attempting to operate the model for the first time.
•
Liability exclusion: as manufacturers, we at GRAUPNER are not in a position to influence the way you install, operate and maintain this product. For this reason
•
we are obliged to deny all liability for loss, damage or costs which are incurred due to the incompetent or incorrect use and operation of our products, or which are
connected with such operation in any way. Without exception the guarantee only covers claims up to the purchase price of the product, as we are not in a position
to ensure that the power unit is installed correctly and used properly.
Installing the RC system receiver:
To avoid interference to the receiving system, please install the receiver as far away as possible from the motor, high-current cables, batteries and servos. Wherever
possible the receiver aerial should be routed directly out of the model.
Preparation:
Set the servo travels at the transmitter to 100%, set the trims to neutral and connect the speed controller to the receiver correctly.
Check that the speed controller's On / Off switch is set to "OFF" before you connect the battery to the controller. Switch the transmitter on first, and only then switch the
controller on.
Excess temperature guard:
