PROCEDURES AND SPECIFICATIONS
1. Charging:
For maximum capacity, recharge the night before each use. Also,
charge the Battery Modules after every use. When the battery is in stor-
age, recharge about every 3 months.
1.1 When using the Command Module for charging, turn off the
Command Module. Connect the Battery Module to be charged to
the Command Module. (The Capacitor Modules may be connected
or not).
1.2 Plug a PRl or PR2 type
charger into the Command
Module and into an AC
mains'outlet. The battery
status lights will blink
one at a time, indicating
the state of charge:
1.3 The charge is complete
when the charge light,
next to the charge jack
on the Command Module,
goes out. Charge time will
vary as follows:
For PB1 Battery Module:
6-7 hours
For PB2 Battery Module:
3-4 hours
Note: you may charge and operate with the command module at
the same time, however, charge time will increase.
1.4 To charge with the Dual
Charge Module (PDC) or
AC Module (PAC), plug
the charger into the
appropriate connector
on the PDC or PAC
module. The charge light
on the module will light and then go out when the charge is
complete. The approximate charge times in hours are shown below:

When travelling to countries with different voltage ratings, a charger
recommended for that area is required. DO NOT USE A VOLTAGE
ADAPTER.
Note: The AC Module can charge one battery externally from a Qpaq
System using a PR1, PR2, or PR3 type charger. If desired, connect the
AC Module to a Qpaq System to charge and operate at the same time.
The rate of charge depends upon how rapidly and how many shots you
take. The status of the battery charge will be displayed on the Qpaq
Command Module panel.
2. Operation
2.1 Connecting Qflash-X series flashes and system components:
2.2 Connect the add-on Capacitor Modules you desire for 200 Ws
(no PXC Modules), 400 Ws (1 module), 600 Ws (2 modules) or
800 Ws (3 modules). Adding additional modules will not increase
power beyond 800 Ws in total.
2.3 Power Splitting (Mode) Switch: Depending on the number of
Capacitor Modules (PXC) you add, the power will be split as shown
below. The "200" and "400" watt-second lights will indicate the
power to each output.

Select the Battery Module
you desire and connect it to
the bottom of the stack. Each
Battery Module "remembers"
how much charge is remaining
which will be displayed on the
Command Module panel.
2.4 Select the "normal" recycle speed, or the "ultra" recycle speed. The
performance of Qpaq will be approximately as shown below. The
exact capacity will vary according to your style of work and the
charge status of the battery.
