3 | General information

3.1 | Reading and keeping these instructions for use

These instructions for use apply exclusively to the Rothewald Rear Wheel Removal
Aid. They contain important notes on safety and handling. Read the instructions
for use carefully, in particular the safety instructions, before using the Rothewald
Rear Wheel Removal Aid. Failure to adhere to these instructions for use can lead
to serious injury or damage to your vehicle. Keep the instructions for use for
future reference. If you pass the Rothewald Rear Wheel Removal Aid on to a third
party, you must hand over these instructions for use.
They are based on the standards and regulations applicable in the European
Union and refl ect the latest state-of-the-art technology. If abroad, observe country-
specifi c guidelines and laws.

3.2 | Explanation of symbols

The following symbols and signal words apply in these instructions for use for the
Rothewald Rear Wheel Removal Aid or on the packaging.
This signal symbol/word indicates a hazard with a
WARNING!
medium risk level which, if not avoided, may result in
death or serious injury.
This symbol indicates how the packaging and
product itself may be recycled.

4 | Safety

4.1 | Intended use

The Rothewald Rear Wheel Removal Aid is used to support the rear wheel of the
motorcycle when removing or installing the rear wheel or when working on the rear
brake with the axle loosened.
The Rothewald Rear Wheel Removal Aid is suitable for tyres from 90 to 220 mm
wide. The minimum height between ground and wheel is approx. 70 mm.
Always take great care to use the Rothewald Rear Wheel Removal Aid
in accordance with these instructions for use and follow the motorcycle
manufacturer's directions to avoid damaging your motorcycle and prevent personal
injury. Only use the Rothewald Rear Wheel Removal Aid as described in these
instructions. Any other use is considered improper use and may result in material
damage. The manufacturer or supplier accepts no liability for damage caused by
improper or incorrect use.

4.2 | Safety instructions

WARNING!
Risk of accident!
• Before use, make sure that the rests on the Rothewald rear
wheel removal aid are correctly installed for the width of the
tyre being worked on.
• The Rothewald Rear Wheel Removal Aid must only be used on
a fl at, even and solid surface. Never use it on loose sand or
soft ground.
• Never under any circumstances place your fi ngers, hands or
other body parts under the vehicle whilst it is jacked up. The
same applies when in the process of jacking up or lowering
the vehicle. Also look out for any persons assisting you. At
all times, ensure that there are no other people or animals
around the vehicle while it is jacked up.
• Do not lean on the raised vehicle under any circumstances as
there is a risk of it falling over.
WARNING!
Danger for children and persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental abilities (e.g. partially disabled persons,
elderly persons with reduced physical and mental abilities) or
lack of experience and knowledge (e.g. older children)!
• The Rothewald Rear Wheel Removal Aid must not be used by
children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
abilities, or those who lack experience and knowledge of
dealing with motorcycles.
• Keep the packaging fi lm away from children, as there is a risk
of suffocation.
• Refer to a workshop manual for your vehicle model when
removing the wheel or rear brake.
