• Always keep a safe distance away from the cut-
ting tool.
• Make certain that the work area is free of obsta-
cles. Coming into contact with obstacles can
result in fatal rebounds.
• No other persons or animals may be present
within an area of 15 m around the cutting area,
as they may otherwise by hit by objects being
slung away.
• Only work when light and visibility are good.
• Do not work above hip height! Do not lean for-
ward or back!
• The operator must wear tight-fitting clothing.
Avoid wearing loose clothing. Wear sturdy shoes
and long trousers.
• Never reach into the work area (cutting tool/cut-
ting cord).
• Take care when walking backwards. Danger of
stumbling!
• Do not work on wet grass.
• Make sure you have a firm stand when working
on slopes.
• Never run when operating the device.
• Always work across slopes, never upwards or
downwards.
• Never work on steep slopes.
• The cutting tool still rotates for a while after the
product has been switched off. Only touch the
cutting tool when it has come to a complete
standstill.
• Protect the product against hard shocks! Do not
let it fall!
Information regarding cutting
• Only cut with the right-hand (here dark grey) part
of the cutting area by moving the product from
left to right in a semi-circle.
• Gentle and rebound-free cutting is possible only
in this area.
• Never set in the left-hand (here light grey) area
for cutting.
Here there is a high risk of rebound and objects
may be slung in your direction by the rotation of
the cutting tool. This may cause injury.
• When moving the product from right to left, you
must keep the cutting tool away from the
ground, so that nothing is flung away.
• Always cut long grass from top to bottom so that
it cannot wind itself around the cutting tool.
Cut with care:
• Only use the tip of the cutting tool. This saves
wear and tear on the cutting tool and avoids
grass being caught on the cutting tool.
• Only hold the cutting tool as closely as neces-
sary to posts, walls, fences and similar objects.
Hard objects wear the cutting tool down very
quickly and can damage it.
• Bark, young trees and bushes can be damaged
by the cutting tool.
Lengthening the cords (only with cord spool)
If the device no longer cuts cleanly, the cords have
become too short.
The best cutting results are achieved if you extend
the cords such that they are cut by the knife to the
right length.
WARNING! Risk of injury (cuts from
sharp edges)! Before any maintenance
and/or cleaning work:
– Switch off the product.
– Allow the product to cool down.
Extending the cords by hand
– Lay the product on the ground.
– Press your hand on the underside of the cord
spool and pull the two cords out until they are
slightly longer than the edge of the protective
shield.
The cords are cut to the right length by the cutting
knife when used again.
